I like how Nong-O showed restraint once he realized he won. I have to say that One Championship is the classiest promotion I've ever watched.

He restrainted because Zatout was quiting and was hurt, not because he won ...

At about 12:25 Rich Franklin makes a great analysis of why Nong-O seemed to back his aggression level down in the last round. It seems that he did so out of respect for an (mutually understood and agreed) already beaten opponent, instead of possibly injuring him seriously by finishing him ruthlessly. Respect to Nong-O for his choice (and to Rich Franklin for highlighting the scenario).

@@MrJohnnybignuts yeah, very common for a 5th round to become an exhibition in Thailand if someone acknowledges that they have already lost.

@Still z7 that's incredibly rare, even more so from an elbow, elbows mostly just cut, as it's hard to generate massive force with an elbow, but that bone on bone contact causes lots of cuts. but realistically if getting hurt is a concern, then fighting isn't for you.

Rodlek did the same against Kulabdam, I only realized this about MT watching Nong-O break down that match. I guess scoring in MT is less corrupt if fighters are comfortable letting their foot off the gas when they know they’re winning.

There are several very dangerous Thai fighters that crush opponents, and if it's the last round, and this fighter was wanting to touch gloves, and Nong O showed mercy and respect by not further damaging a defeated opponent. If you notice, In Thailand they don't consider KOs part of your record. It's all about wins, losses and draws.

The respect that these champions have for other fighters is so much a part of their code. They all know they both went through hell training to stand in front of you that night. I'm sure fans betting on a knockout were mad - but moments like this make me proud to be a huge fan

The Muay Thai fighters are bulking up heavily on their takedown defenses and eventually damn near every grappler is gonna have a hell of a time taking these type of fighters down in the clinch. The Thai fighters are stuffing the hell outta our takedowns. Eventually judo is gonna have to be dominate in takedowns which made Ronda rousey a force not to be reconked with... eventually she grew over confident and got messed up by strikers.

He was clearly scared to fight. No doubt. By asking all fight long to touch gloves, He was crying to nong o ''please be my friend and let's just play light sparring''... In Thaïland stadium, in this situation, the referee break early and command him to fight. (No choice). The real problem in this confrontation, is the the skill's contender is huge too far from nong O 's skills. Like davjd and goliath, but without the help of god. No pleasure for me to seen this fight.
