That last kick putting Mahmoudi on the ground though.. that was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. It doesn't make any sense how fast it was. Even though he saw it coming he still delivered that kick so fast you have to watch it in slow motion just to see it happen. This is at the end of the fight and at his age.

I think he just used up all he's tricks and would be punished for trying many of them,,so like always he tries to evade the entire figth and survive but just doesn't have the flow anymore ,,can only evade one move at the time and do that to go in for clinch and dump ..he never attacked only a few teeps.. it's the age he can probably outrun most people he's own age even many runner's and is still in great shape and have it all in he's head but even he's head evasive techniques have become way slower ...

No. The reason he lost this fight is because the referee wouldn’t let them clinch. That favors the taller fighter and takes away half the tools from a Muay Thai fighter. It’s honestly disgusting. This wasn’t Muay Thai; this was just kickboxing.

All fair game… Lerdsila doesn’t mind. But yeah kinda defeats the point of having stand up matches in a cage. I see the point your trying to make in pointing out the early opportunities where Lerdsila had a chance to kill his opponent, but Lerdsila, being from an isolated and under- surveilled country where you could easily murder just about anyone you wanted and get away with it, knows this is not the point. The point is to toy with the opponent so much so you can read their every move and take it as a workout every time blows are landed. The transfer of knowledge within Muay Thai and it’s earlier arts is yes, inefficient, but to see such a culture with a collective consciousness as Thailands and it’s surrounding jungle areas is fascinating and captivating to say the least. It’s almost as if grandmaster like him get hypnotized into thinking that fighting with an opponent whom only uses basics is shameful and worthy of deaths. Unworthy opponents get schooled way later on when they learn the secrets of grand thinkers such as Lerdsila.
@aidanmullard85082 жыл бұрын
True lerd works amazing clinch game espically against larger pppentents. He loves to do these jumping knee strikes in the clinch. And he is great about using his reactions and predictions to get in the clinch. It's just a shame a lot of ref's don't allow him to shine in the clinch. A great example of a good ref allowing cliches, lerd vs momotaro. That's an amazing fight between 2 greats, with good refing

Why does the referee keep breaking up the clinch? Does he think this is kickboxing? What an amateur. Probably changed the result of the fight.
@vlahell2 жыл бұрын
You're the amateur, this is ONE, not Lumpinee. Check the rules before commenting without have an idea.
@peregrintook92272 жыл бұрын
@@vlahell Wow. That was an aggressive comment. First of all, if what you're saying is true, it still isn't okay. Muay Thai is defined by the clinch. If you take that away, it isn't Muay Thai. Second of all, you should check ONE's ruleset before commenting because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Just watch other referees like Elias Dolaptsis and you'll see that they let the fighters work in the clinch for as long as they are staying busy. Also, Michael Schiavello said on broadcast that fighters are allowed to work in the clinch for five seconds before they get broken up.
@tylerdurden37222 жыл бұрын
@@vlahell why do some other refs allow longer clinches, in contrast to your rule?
@thelaw35362 жыл бұрын
I think the lack of allowing clinch's was a poor choice; sometimes someone was about to be dumped or attacked when it's broken up. Also age doesn't do well for a head movement style seems like. If he had more stamina he likely would've won this fight or if he had better boxing as he could more easily and less costly counter Mahmoudi; kicks require more energy.
