A very merry Christmas to you and your mum, and see you in the New Year 🎉

This is a lovely video. The ships are very interesting and the drone footage was great. (You've probably heard we're having a drone panic over here.) The golden hour is the best time of the day. Thank you for the lovely and informative production. For your info it looks stunning on a 65” tv! Isn’t it difficult deciding whether the black/white image has more impact than the colour, so showing both as you do is the perfect solution. Very enjoyable- well done!

@marilynbalderstone69617 күн бұрын
Particularly interesting to me as I lived in Gloucester for many years and saw the sunken ships gradually deteriorate. I have passed the wrecks of the two barges from the train going to Cardiff but I have never seen them from the air so that was a real treat. I had no idea how much was left of the superstructure on them. What a tragic terrifying incident it was and how useful that railway bridge crossing the Severn would be now. I think they had refurbished it shortly before the accident. Many thanks.

I’m watching it again the second time, I caught it this morning before I went to service, where the advent calendar this Sunday was Joy… which is what we have in Jesus happiness is what we make it and people get the two words mixed up you choose Joy, and you two bring a lot of happiness. I literally cried on your wonderful photography and Petes with the drone…I have seen those boats before but you have gotten so good especially this last month like I said I’m following along. (This week I just got to watch )I thought I got the book but they sent me the map. It’s not as easy so now I’m gonna have to look for the Nicholson guide book… you have turned into quite the documentary and that’s what I love the videos you have been making lately… Absolutely superb and breathtaking between you and Pete with your commentary you got it down I do believe this canal and your trip on it with my most favorite since I’ve been watching you and I’ve seen all your videos… thank you Merry CHRISTmas Samn in Oregon

At least the Severn Railway bridge lasted longer than the other viaduct connecting England and scotland over the Solway Firth

Wow I’ve just read about Solway Viaduct and it really wasn’t open for long at all was it! Thanks for watching 😊

yes remember that incident back in the 60s Still we got the new bridge to wales 5 soles lost,???
@onedaymoreaboard12 күн бұрын
Yes a very sad story that resulted in the demolition of the bridge, as it was not economically viable to repair. All rail traffic then went through the existing tunnel and the 2 Severn bridges that we see today opened in 1966 and 1996. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it 😊

I'm adding it to my list, well I wanna do full connected network, want to get under power before I do South tho. Done 70 miles on centre line, started on Trent and mursy, then the full length Macclesfield, half the peak Forrest, part the ashton. Now nearly crossed Rochdale off the list. 134 locks in just under 6 months. Hopefully getting power next month so I can do river hull, Humber, picklington, York, and all surrounding befor I do leeds Liverpool and start coming south

You've done quite as few that we haven't done so far! Definitely add the Gloucester & Sharpness to your list, we loved it. We will go back one day for sure to spend a little more time there, as we were on a bit of a time constraint as we wanted to get off the River Severn before prime flood season.Happy and safe travels for 2025 😊

Hi there. First time for me to watch your video. The main thing took my attention was the squeaking noise from your shaft that was above everything. Please take care of that before it will turn to a stop voyage. Other than that-beutiful video.
@onedaymoreaboardКүн бұрын
Welcome aboard, glad you enjoyed the video! The noise you can hear is our ‘singing’ propellor. We had to have our prop replaced last year after we hit something very hard under the water. The new prop is too perfect and that’s what causes the noise you can hear when we are cruising at tick over speed. To rectify it we need to have the boat taken out of the water so that the edge of the prop blade can be filed down a little so they are less perfect. Friends of ours have just had this done to their new prop and it cured the noise. We are going to just pay the money and get it done as you can tell it’s quite annoying! We’ve just been putting it off because of the cost! 😊

Sorry to ask on here, but are you ok? After seeing yesterdays terrible news about the canal breach.

Thanks for thinking of us Bernadette. We are not on the Bridgewater Canal thankfully and feel so sad for those boaters now stuck due the terrible disaster. Let’s hope they find some sort of temporary solution soon so they can move off that canal 😢

Hamish is reaching the lifespan of that breed of dog. Without wishing to upset you, I am curious whether you will get another of the same type when he finally goes to sleep, to keep Poppy company? I don't know how dogs react to a family member not being there anymore when they grew up with them. Feel free to delete this message if it is offensive, I don't mean to be, its just something I've always wanted to ask a dog owner.

Not offensive at all and happy to answer. You’re right, the life expectancy of westies is 13-15 years, so we are thankful for every day we have with Hamish now he is slowing down and showing his age. Our first westie was Jasper, who you see on the montage at the end of all of our videos. We had to say a sad goodbye to him in November 2022 when he had very aggressive mouth cancer, but he was 15 so had lived a long and good life full of adventure. Our youngest Poppy has really kept Hamish company and keeps him young for sure. We can’t imagine how he would have been when we lost Jasper if Poppy wasn’t around. We have already said that we think Poppy will be happy being an only dog one day when Hamish goes. We have so many boat friends with dogs that she’s never short of playmates now. Thanks for watching 😊

Do you recycle?
@onedaymoreaboard7 күн бұрын
We do our best to recycle. The rubbish collection points along the way sometimes have designated recycling bins, but often do not, but it gets sorted at the waste collection facility (apparently). Thanks for watching 😊

Well not good for the Narrowboats on the Bridgewater canal . i would say the will need all the help they can get . As this has happened on the 1.1. 2025.

It’s terrible isn’t it. We know people stuck up there now. Josh’s amazing drone footage of the breach was featured on the BBC News. We hope they find some sort of temporary fix soon for all affected 😢
