Yeshua, or Jesus Christ, can be found no matter where you are. Nephi testifies that he had been speaking with the Lord. Laman and Lemuel said, “the Lord maketh no such thing known unto us.” 1 Nephi 15:9 They did not inquire of the Lord. Many members of the church follow their example and do not inquire of the Lord. They are still blind and will remain so until they humble themselves and seek the Lord. The way to do it is right there in the Book of Mormon. 2 Nephi 32

Johanna, AMEN and good for you. I was raised in a LDS context, most of my friends were LDS, boy scout troop etc. What I found is that the "jesus christ" of Mormonism is absolutely not reconsilable in description, essential identity, mission, or resulting church - or any of the other fundamentals, with the *Jesus Christ* prophesied in the biblical books of Daniel, Isaiah, Psalms, the minor prophets and described in the New Testament. There is no way you can jam the two persons together; they are completely incompatible identities. I figured out that they may both be false or one true and the other fiction, but both of them absolutely could not be simultaneously true, as my LDS friends maintained. In reading the biblical story end:end while I was in the 11th grade, I discovered the biblical Jesus to be compelling, lovely, selfless, incredibly courageous yet absent of any element of pride/arrogance - with His Gospel resulting in a restoration of my relationship *directly* with God and my doing works to be a natural and inevitable act of gratitude and worship and having no bearing on earning any element of my salvation (authentic Christianity) rather than something I bartered to buy (and thus rightfully own) part of my salvation (Mormonism). It seemed to me that Mormonism was structured to create, support and maintain an earthly organizational heirarchy and its promise was that I could assume an increasing prominent place in...eventually translating that into the afterlife. That seemed to serve man rather than God. You made the right choice, there is no comparison.

I can't stop ~ my Christian mother is angry at me for keeping the Sabbath she says ~ I'm not honoring Yeshua's resurrection ~ I do ~ I thank Him for what he did for me. I know what He did. Incidentally, my family kept my little bit of Jewish in me away from me & siblings. The last name spelling was changed by my grandfather. It was Schneider. Now it's Snyder. My grandfather was an Assembly of God preacher in California. I love the LAW TOO. Yeshua taught the TORAH in the Synagogue.

And the beauty is that He knows what “playing in pain” feels like. In the Messiah, God lived a human life..a life with difficulty..sometimes with family dynamics, in His society, with the established religious order of the time. He identifies with our human condition. He is not ashamed of His people Israel or His people in the Gentile world. His death, burial and resurrection makes it truly possible to walk in this life with freedom. That we could truly know the God of Israel, the Creator of the universe. And live victoriously even in the pain of life. I’m so thankful for Adonai Yeshua HaMashiach!

Your testimony reminds me of myself. When I was a little kid my parents told me I was Jewish but told me I could not tell anyone because people hate Jews and would burn my dad’s business down. My mom was not Jewish but my father. So I could not prove my Jewish blood because it was through my dad’s mother. When I got older I realized I was not Jewish but only in part. So I started thinking of myself as part Hebrew. But I have always loved Jewish people. Eventually I became a believer in Christ. Like your beautiful testimony, my story was much complicated. But no room here. I really enjoyed your testimony. Thank you for your courage. It inspired me!!

Once you're IN Christ, it is a permanent relationship ... "becoming Christian" sounds like a head knowledge, but Jesus wants your HEART. Some preachers say something like "she missed Heaven by 18 inches" meaning there was a head knowledge to the rote facts of Christ, a mental decision to say "I believe in Jesus" but it never turned into a love relationship with the Giver of Life. Bow your HEART to Him in adoration and praise.

@@lyssalouise2705 Technically his name was first written as “Iesous” because that is how Yeshua was accepted as being written in Greek at the time, given the that New Testament was written in Greek. Either way, different languages render names very differently, and in English “Yeshua” is rendered as Jesus, and his title of being the “anointed one” is rendered from the Greek “Christos” as “Christ” in English. Given that we’re speaking English, it’s appropriate to call him Jesus Christ, just as if we were speaking Italian, we’d call him “Gesù Cristo”

Yes, yours too are beautiful words "deep into my soul", Alan. As are the words, "Sometimes you gotta play in Pain." One fellow testified to me that Christ's pattern was a U shape. He had glory, went down, through the heavens to earth, to suffer for us and like us and he triumphantly went to heaven. Glory Sufferings Glory. This U shape is the pattern of our life after meeting Christ. We see this pattern in many ways throughout the New Testament and experience it in many ways in our lives.. To name one, Romans 5:1ff The glory of justification Romans 5:1,2 is followed by the sufferings in verse 7ff is followed by the hope in our Father and His son, who brought us through this tribulation. Christ's pattern of facing the hardships in a fallen groaning creation, becomes our pattern. Only His suffering paid for our sins, once-for-all. Having hit 70 He has always carried me through. "Hither by Your help I've come. And I hope by His good pleasure, safely to arrive at home."

@The-F.R.E.E.-J.6 жыл бұрын
Amen, but it's so much more than simply enduring till the end. Your Father wants to walk w/ you right here, right now. That's why He came here & did everything for us, so we could rest in His perfect love & acceptance for us - in the middle of the storm, like Andrew said, only *much* closer than any star. He wants to dwell in our hearts..

Incredible. Laying here in despair with a seriously injured knee and I find this. I’ve been unable to walk, with very little mobility, and much pain for four months. I can relate to the emotional/mental pain of the narrator and the physical pain of ball player. God is great! Thank you Jesus! Yes, I too will play in pain.

God saves those who fear Him and obey Him, not those who “trust in the legs of man.”

God hates men who go behind men and that’s what happened in sodom and Gomorrah. Then why you think God himself as that? Shame on you for saying that and never ever ever repeat it.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the quote from Lewis on His own Conversion: “You must picture me alone in that room in Magdalen, night after night, feeling, whenever my mind lifted even for a second from my work, the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly desired not to meet. That which I greatly feared had at last come upon me. In the Trinity Term of 1929 I gave in, and admitted that God was God, and knelt and prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England. I did not then see what is now the most shining and obvious thing; the Divine humility which will accept a convert even on such terms. The Prodigal Son at least walked home on his own feet. But who can duly adore that Love which will open the high gates to a prodigal who is brought in kicking, struggling, resentful, and darting his eyes in every direction for a chance of escape? The words “compelle intrare,” compel them to come in, have been so abused be wicked men that we shudder at them; but, properly understood, they plumb the depth of the Divine mercy. The hardness of God is kinder than the softness of men, and His compulsion is our liberation.”

@@michaelgetz6554 What is more important: being a follower of Jesus or being part of the Catholic church?
@michaelgetz65544 жыл бұрын
@@bdv4622 : Being part of the Catholic Church means that you are IN Christ, because the Catholic Church is the Body of Christ. Therefore being a follower of Christ is the same thing as being part of the Catholic Church.
@bdv46224 жыл бұрын
@@michaelgetz6554 Where in the Bible did you find that? Matthew 16:15-18 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. -> Would Jesus still have said that if Peter didn't give Him that answer? -> Would Jesus give us the same answer if we were to tell Him something else today? -> If not: doesn't that mean that the truth of Jesus as the Messiah is the basis of the Church and not Peter or one of his descendants or 'the Catholic church'? I'd argue that faith in Jesus is the most important thing, not a mere denomination: ->Faith leads to salvation, not some denomination - John 3:16 ->We're baptised into the Body of Christ, not the body of some denomination -1 Corinthians 12:12-13 ->We should be anchored on the vine that is Christ, not the vine of some denomination - John 15:1-16 Is Christ divided? - 1 Corinthians 1:13 "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." - Ephesians 4:3-6
@michaelgetz65544 жыл бұрын
@@bdv4622 : All of your quotes are referring to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. It was the first and only Church that Christ founded upon Peter, the Rock. For 1500 years it remained One until the time of Martin Luther and the other heretics who broke away to establish their own churches. Today there are about 40,000 heretical denominations, each claiming their own authority. The word "Catholic" is a Greek word meaning "universal". The Holy Catholic Church was the ONLY Christianity in the world until the schismatics and heretics split away. While other religions have some truth in them, the Catholic Church contains ALL the fullness of Truth revealed to man by God. To be Christian is to be Catholic and to be Catholic is to be Christian. That Bible, the Word of God, that you are quoting, is brought to you by the Holy Catholic Church.

In addition to prayer, you might want to look into something here on KZbin called "The Tapping Solution." Not sure exactly what kind of pain you (or anyone reading this) might be dealing with, but it's a very simple biofeedback technique that can help reset how our mind processes pain and even helps retrain certain habitual thought patterns. I hope you find it of help. God bless whoever is reading this! ❤️
