@ellenfrancis67 Read Psalm 22, 110 and 2 as well as Isaiah 53. Read the Gospels where dozens of Old Testament prophecies are fulfilled. Read Jesus's words, Paul and the other New Testament epistle writers' words and you'll see how often they quote the prophets and the Old Testament writings. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Why would you avoid reading the New Testament? Why not do it so you can re-convert Messianic Jews by "proving them wrong"? Avoiding the New Testament and ignoring it blunts any arguments you can make

@ellenfrancis67 The point is about Isaiah 53. In no way does it refer to more than one person and neither can it be read that way. The only plurals refer to Israel (the first line's "our report" refers to the prophets foretelling His coming) but the rest is unambiguously HE and is speaking of the Messiah, which, together with the multitudes of other prophecies and foreshadowings in the OT make it VERY clear that it refers to Jesus. You need to be reading the NT (with an open mind) regularly to see the consistency and cohesion with the OT and to understand it, not once in a liftetime or once every two or three decades...

Here's why and you might want to re-read what else He tells them in Matthew 23 "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted" (Jesus's words in Matthew 23:12, echoing 1 Samuel 2:7...they knew their texts but the words had never reached their heart)

There is a Chabad House in Kathmandu Nepal. We are trying to provoke them by giving them "Isaiah 53 Explained." It breaks my heart seeing Jewish people coming here in predominantly Hindu country and worshipping idols. I would love to talk with you.

I came to Jesus out of a a largely secular background. As a kid I was told we were Jews and "Jews don't believe in Jesus", but I never understood what being a Jew really meant (I imagine being from a Chabad background you were at least clued in about that) until I began studying the Bible after I came to faith. Testimonies like this are encouraging. There wasn't nearly as much support for Jewish believers in 1979 when I got saved as there is now. I can only imagine what it might have been like in 1961.

I really enjoyed this lovely man's testimony and his great sense of humor, just delightful! And one thing which I have heard in so many of these testimonies, is how surprised he was when he finally read the New Testament (in spite of the fact that he had always been told not to and that Jews shouldnt read it), he was so surprised at how Jewish it is! Which led to his accepting Jesus/Yeshua into his life. So many people in these testimonies say the same thing! Imagine what might happen if more Jews would read the NT or at least the gospels, and discover how Jewish it really is.
