Funny I have that argument with people all the time. music really is timeless. a great song in 1966 is still a great song in 2016. I'm only 38 so the Beatles were before my time, but it puts a smile on my face when I.see High School kids and younger wearing Beatles t-shirts and listening to their music

Thank you for this. There hasn't been a band with that kind of quick wit and presence since, and never again shall there be. I know it's been said every which way a million times, but still we soldier on. 15:24 man how cool would it be to have your uncle's Beatles NYC street footage from 1964...this doc is the best because of the candid tag-along footage. My mom saw them at Shea stadium '65!

My Grandpa Dave was an englishman who came to America. through Ellis Island in 1900's. He was a fancy Limousine Driver in NYC and drove the Beatles around when they came in 1964!! He told me all about it!!! He also drove the Rolling Stones around NYC!! Guess who he enjoyed much better??? BEATLES! OF COURSE!! SAID STONES WERE NASTY!

I remember when i was 11or 12 years old I believe. It was 1964! My parents had divorced and my father actually let me fly to Los Angeles, to spend a month with my mother. She asked me if I would like. To go to disneyland, or go and see the Beatles. I had heard about them, but Disneyland sounded so cool. And decided to go there instead of seeing the Beatles. I'm shure that everyone had made a decision in there life that they regretted. And this was my day. I know the people couldn't hear the music. But what a magical night it was. A year later I was a true Beatles fan! And my father actually bought me my first guitar and a small amplifier for Christmas. The guitar was a vox student prince. And a small Gibson amp. And 57 years later, I still play guitar! I can thank the Beatles, for a lifetime of gratitude! For taking me on a musical journey! Which I still enjoy to this day. I still love them.

Every member of the band contributed to the ultimate image of the Beatles with John and Paul providing the dominant musical contribution. Their varying characters gave every fan someone to identify with. They were not carbon copies of each other. John was the originator and the leader George Harrison once said that John gave the group a hard edge during those early days and they needed it back then.

Try to imagine going from some working class lads from Liverpool that just wanted to play music. Then going from playing mostly cover songs in dive bars for beer money to becoming the most famous people on earth. It is astounding they kept it together as long as they did. Maybe because it was so unprecedented at the time it didn't go to thiers heads nearly as much as it could have.

not really. it's not journalists' jobs to keep your secrets. if you don't want something broadcast you lie or don't answer a journalist's question about it. if a journo asked him if he got the clap in Hamburg, he wouldn't have hesitated to say "no" or "none of your business." this was a bizarre take on Paul's part

It was terrible that Lennon was shot but there was still no reason for the Beatles to even consider getting back together by then. Leaving us with Abbey Road, Let it Be and the legendary rooftop performance was the way to go out in style. At their best and still wanting more was the way. But they gave so much greatness in a decade there is no reason to complain or blame. I for one am just thankful.

1980 an interesting period for music. Punk, disco, metal, prog, pop, rock all swirling around and you are correct- no time for a reunion. But if John hadn't been murdured they would have done something perhaps an MTV unplugged but plugged in like Bruce did finally showing the world their live chops without screams. Not a full reunion I don't think but a bit of redemption.

A lot of this are forgotten or rarely seen interviews (at least here in the U.S.) and clips NOT included in the recent "Eight Days a Week" Ron Howard documentary, so it is worth a look if you have not seen it. Apparently most of the performances/music/songs are copyrighted or something and/or not heard due to infringement. Don't know. That's okay, you have all heard them over and over.

I fell in love with The Beatles 55 years ago, when I was a 22 year-old existentialist nerd into Jean-Paul Sartre, jazz and classical music. I had heard about The Beatles and I thought it was all nonsense. Then I heard by accident Yesterday, and I couldn't believe it, that was chamber music! And then I heard more and more, and fell in love with them musically, and also physically with Paul McCartney, who I thought was gorgeous. I still remember everything they sang. When One Direction came around--now in my old age--I liked them very much. And I also fell in love with Harry Styles, who could be my grandson. But there were flaws with One Direction. They didn't play any instruments, they didn't write their own music, and the music they sang was mostly trash. They were good singers and had the freshness of The Beatles, but that was it, I am sorry to say. Oh well, The Beatles forever.

+Fausto Fernandez. Really enjoyable hearing about your experience and emotion involved with The Beatles music. Sir George Martin, would've helped with that quality in their music being fully trained in Classical and more than likely Jazz too. Hope you are keeping well, everyone is on their way to old age, some not so lucky, to get their gracefully is all a part of accepting your life and happy times with your generation. Be well I sincerely hope life is treating you well and you are in grand health. The Karl Herd Trio were great Jazz artists. Father, Llew Trombone, Mother Pamela, Trumpet, and Son Karl, Saxophone, Karl is able to play any style of music a very talented man. They travelled the world originally from England, settling in Australia. The son Karl is still playing now living in Nottingham England. Doing all sorts of gigs out and about. Karl was very ill with cancer, the Jazz community raised millions of pounds for him when ill. He has recovered since and back to his Saxophone playing. May you be in grand health. Peace and Love to you. Sincerely so. Hugs.

+Fausto Fernandez. That's a lovely life you have, you taught him something so valuable, am sure he is so grateful for your learnedness and wisdom. Yes, I believe you have the "she" being the "cats" mother correct? Also the "tom cat" as in peeping "he" apparently being the deviant of the two the male. Yes, we all know what "cats" mean. Am merely pointing out the origin of the meaning of the word. we don't call our mother's "She" that is referring mother's are cats. Just a simple explanation. As you've stated, not often heard nowadays. Some much more creative terms have been added to the list. What two consulting adults do in their bedrooms is their business. Am not easily shocked if that's your intent. Enjoy your life as you please. Don't pump him too much the muscles become very worn out and a diaper or nappy, (depending on which country you are from of course) disposable and replaceable were invented, as anything or anyone is disposable in some peoples minds. Happy hump day when it rolls around. I myself had never heard of "Happy hump day" before until it was on Facebook. Thank you for replying. Enjoy what's left of your life. Is your name Allan?

Just read your comment. It WAS on KZbin until about a year ago. I've seen it twice now. Once on YT, and, before that, at Abbey Road in 1983, when they opened Studio 2 to a few Beatle fans. They played us a lot of unheard outtakes that ended up on 'Anthology', and showed us 'The Long And Winding Road', the first time anyone outside the Beatle 'family' had seen it.

For all the “real fans” and the people saying that the Beatles wanted to make “real” music but couldn’t because of they’re ‘crazed’ female fandom. That forced them to only produce and release the style of song that was most popular. (Yet all their music even, their releases during those most mainstream moments, has stood the test of time which is “real music” 101). You should be proud and happy for the artists you care for so much for that, you’re somehow one of their rare “real fans”, as it’s a testament of their greatness and your “rare great taste” since you like being rare so much. Because that’s what happens with talented icons. Why?, because Females are the most sought out demographic in mainstream entertainment because of how dedicated and proactive they are. So those crazed fan girls or the female pre teen/teen demographic as they’re more formally known as is the most profitable and is the demographic that makes an entertainer go from popular to legendary and makes their legacy historical. (One direction, coldplay, Rolling Stones, etc all have gone through the crazed teen phase except kpop where the phase is just your permanent fan base outside of Asia. By the end of all the mania, true talent get their dues paid like the Beatles have over the past 3 decades. Best of all it’s free marketing. None of which quite which would have happened without that crazed fandom period that caused them to impact things outside of music and even outside the entertainment industry. (E.g Lennons death leading to investigation privacy policy and public liaison guidelines being reformed. Due to how the media coverage of criminals murderers specifically was becoming a common motive like it was for johns killer. This reform did largely work till social media came along now criminals can film themselves and let the internet do the rest). Beatles fan girls was the mainstreams first experience of Stan culture and the most famous first example of “going viral” all of this made them the first blueprint for a global pop star. Which no one has achieved to their standard showing once again why they’re so great regardless of type of fans. It has however been refined to the point labels are creating their own musical stars now (industry plants) to the point that each major record label has at least 2 or 3 of them all varying in successes but none even 1% close to the Beatles mainly because of the crazed fan girls. They are probably the most important marketing tool and they don’t cost a penny. But because of that you can’t fake them. Takes years, the beyhive didn’t form overnight.

Why did the Beatles break up? You can come up with so many answers for a question only THE BEATLES could answer...one piece to the puzzle of that question is that they never wanted to break up. Personally my guess as to why the Beatles broke up is that their popularity TORE them apart simply because they were Loved so much by so many. We loved them so much that we lost our minds over them, we went bezerk and became so insanely obsessed over them as if being possessed by their spirits...they were Wanted men and the World wanted to have them. Simply put, our love for the Beatles killed them because they were so overwhelmed by Beatlemania. Their popularity heard around the world became an epidemic that had spread like wild fire that, for a moment in time, they were unstoppable. So the question still remains...why did the Beatles break up? Maybe another question we should be asking ourselves is why does their music still live on to this very day?? Just find a Beatles fan and ask them What makes them a Beatles fan...Their answer will be shown not only on their faces, but what they feel in their hearts, and the heart never lies. Our Love for the Beatles ended The Beatles...Sad but true...and the beat goes on! BEATLES FOREVER!!!
@libraryquiet

+Sean Ramirez+ Why did the Beatles break up? Like everybody else does eventually, they grew up. It was time to move on. Simple, what's the mystery? Your other question as to why their music still lives on to this day. Are you serious?! Their music is the best. You come on as some intellectual on the Beatles experience and culture yet you contradict yourself in your comment. You stated, "So the question still remains... why did the Beatles break up? Then you turn around and say, "Our love for the Beatles ended the Beatles... Sad but true..." So which is it? I can tell you're a big time Beatles fan. Just be careful not to go around sounding like your opinions are correct or else you'll hear from others like me. Like John Lennon said, "Leave the analysis to someone else and let them get it wrong."

Nice collection of interviews and footage of mainly their early days of Beatlemania. But one way not to get me to subscribe to your channel is to beg for it every three minutes during the video.

Someone knows or have any information about the interview from 48:57 to 50:28? Paul seems to be uncomfortable or upset with someone or something. It looks like he just decided not to say a word during that interview. There is a moment in which he said something to Ringo (like a secret) and John, very discretely, asks him if he is all right ("you all right?). Paul just looks at him and starts to whistle. It's a very interesting situation (considering that back in those days, Paul ALWAYS had something to say), and I just wonder in what historic moment of The Beatles it happened. Any clue?

Thanks for your response. It could be a reasonable explanation, but to me, it seems that Paul was upset. His attitude is like, "I am not going to answer any question".

I found the complete video of this interview, followed by another interview done with the same person the next day. Paul, in fact was ill. He had stomach flu. The papers reported that he collapsed due to his illness, but he clarified to the reporter that he did not, he said that in fact he got the flu but that he was feeling good and ready for The Beatles concert that night.

+ 1 Bad Jesus. Take a look at a documentary of all the same bands with the same groupies in America. Pamela Des Barres does a trip to all the queens that threw themselves at David Bowie, one said after he took her virginity at 14years of age, he became a star that night. They slept with the lot. Cassandra one of them, played Elvira after Elvis advised her to get out of Vegas. A song penned was named sweet sweet Connie from Little Rock another of them. The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zep. Aerosmith, The Stones, The Who, Frank Zappa even produced them as a band. Elvis was included with these groupies. A Japanese exotic dancer named Satura ? he gave her an engagement ring. Sweet Connie from Little Rock has all the bands pictures on her walls with tokens from the band. The Plaster Caster s included. Check it out for yourselves, the list is so long. It's on VHS1 on youtube. Am too tired to name all the bands. From "Dreamtime"

The interesting thing about the Beatles, at least imo, is the way they handled their rise to fame & popularity. You never got the impression that they ever took it too seriously. A lot of bands either reject it & really come off as jerks, others become jaded & almost gross, due to an inflated sense of their own importance. The beatles always seemed even keel, grounded, & never forgot that they were just some guys who really liked making music. There's not many who've been in that position who could've handled all that fame & popularity w/such grace. I believe they are the best band of all time, & i don't think any band will ever top what they accomplished. No matter how big they got, they never fell off. All their music was great & every album was different.

@@nicholasjames2097 oh smart indeed... very intelligent, big pictures. ofc the real truth of it is, they killed paul because he was such a bore, and then just made a bunch of songs about that. because thats what one does - tries to sing about their conspiracies as much as they can. incidentally, now as i commit frauds regarding the death of a person, i, as a nod to the fab four maffia, try n make as much witty remarks as i can about it all, and design incriminating backwards inverted elements and small pictures of it into all my products big pictures. wouldnt be a conspiracy without it. just wouldnt have the feel. i also recently bought a big poster of abbey road - for the big picture, y know

I'll probably get slaughtered for this but I never cared for The Beatles... I liked the Stones much better... Now that said, I've really been listening to their classics n I am truly impressed by their intellect, talent, charisma etc .. the songs resonate with every aspect of everyday life in a poetic manner ... Damn, I wish I'd listened more carefully when they were performing together... Ah well, better late than never!
