I can’t express how much this fingerstyle helped! I’m currently on a folk music kick, and Travis picking is a must-learn for folk music. Landslide is a quintessential Travis picking song, and this fingerpicking pattern is easily transferable to other songs! Incredible! Thank you!

All the fingerpicking tutorials and exercises you’ve posted lately, and having practiced them, have made this lesson fun cos I can actually hear it coming together. Great brain stimulation! Thanks Katie 😊

I’m so happy that it feels cohesive to you, and I’m so happy that they’re helping. I really put a ton of thought into what I post and when I post. Literally I think months ahead, so I’m so happy that the order is helping. Thanks for the encouragement 😀. I appreciate it.
@JeffJeno10004 жыл бұрын
One important aspect to take into account in your tutorials Katie is that the chord structures in your lessons always sound pleasant. In apps such as UG, a lot of the Ukelele versions that have been changed from Guitar for Ukelele tabs just don’t work, and a chord like a D7sus4 is not easy to grab for a newbie like me. You also encourage alternative fingers to make chords which suits many players, and which with experience, helps chord transitions.

Wow, what great feedback, and I’m so happy that you like arrangements. That means a lot. I know what you mean. Some charts or some chord variations just aren’t the right fit for the uke, or they just end up getting in the way of the purpose of the tutorial. I did write a course about different chord variations and adding sus4, sus2, power chords, etc, but I haven’t filmed it yet. I have too many ideas but not enough time 🤗. Maybe someday I’ll be a full time KZbinr. Take care 😀.

Was lucky enough to see them perform (sadly sans Lindsay) last year. They were terrific. Hope he rejoins them at some point. I cried when Stevie sang this in concert. Thanks for the terrific tutorial. Btw, is the Flame Maple Lanikai you’re playing made before 2018? Mine is not the cutaway, and has an 8-hole, quick tie/no tie bridge unlike yours, please let me know.
@OneMusicSchool4 жыл бұрын
Really!??!? That’s amazing! My mom said that she saw The Doors in the 60s. One of those “I can’t believe I get to listen to this love” experiences. I think the uke is really fun and versatile. I told another subscriber that the more I play it, the more I like it. It’s a Flamed Maple 5 string Tenor from Lanikai. It also has a Fishman pickup and a tuner.
@OneMusicSchool4 жыл бұрын
I would have to check about the year model. I got it last April, so that’s 2019. It could be from 2018. I’ll have to look into it.
@Eponagirl08104 жыл бұрын
Mine is a tenor with no pickup. The fret ends are as smooth as silk. Thankfully I think the music store where I purchased it did the setup. Here is the URL for two Lanikai bridges: First traditional/standard tie bridge (which it appears is on your Lanikai), then the eight hole no-tie bridge kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp6UpaiZhalghKM that is on mine. Are you familiar with the eight hole no-tie bridge? Perhaps you would consider adding it to your string change video: How to Restring Your Ukulele - 3 Different Bridges + 2 Different Headstocks. It would then change to ....4 Different Bridges, etc. Btw, would have loved to see The Doors in concert.

Yes, it’s a 5 stringed flamed maple tenor with cutaway, pickup, and blood wood binding from Lanikai 😀. I teach at Heid Music, and they are Lanikai dealers. If you email Heid Music and ask about it, they can quote you a price and special order it for you if you’re interested. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it ❤️.
