There is a huge difference between the inspirational rainbow of nature that is a message of hope and the dirty rainbow of the poofter propagandists. They are perpetually abusing good words such as gay, pride, rainbow, in a futile attempt to gloss over their sense of shame that goes with degrading behaviour. It's all emperor's clothes. No amount of legal , media, political or Hollywood support can ever wipe away the sense of shame that accompanies such behaviour. In the meantime there is a whole generation of women who were proudly named Gay by their parents and who can no longer use their birth name because it now means something filthy, offensive and degraded. People should wake up and stop pandering to them by using such words. It might be PC to use such words but it is not kind. Kindness starts with truth. When a person faces the truth there is hope that they might just choose to turn around and improve their life. Then you can help them in the best way possible.

Masterclass mentality? Only to the blind. Sinners belittle, reject, contradict, & hate God, his teachings, laws, & judgements. God said, "Neither Homosexuals, Adulterers, Fornicators, Murderers, Liars, Thieves, Gossipers, Usurpers, Blasphemers, nor Idol Worshipers will enter the Kingdom of Heaven". God is love. Love is not lust. Gen. 2:24 "Marriage is between a man & a woman". It's an impossibility for God to create a human with unforgiveable sin, call him a hated, abomination, forbid him to ever enter Heaven. Impossible. God set down teachings, laws, commands, & judgements, taught what was allowed & what was forbidden, gave man a 'choice' as to whom he would serve; good or evil, right or wrong, God or Satan. It's all a choice. If a murderer, liar, adulterer etc. decided to make up their own laws, design individual flags, take part in parades to advertize their sins, enter gov'ts to change the laws to vindicate their crimes, adopt innocent children, teach them to lie, cheat, murder, then force the world to accept them as part of a normal society, what kind of world would that be to live in? Sodom? Is God a liar? Or is man a liar?

Out of curiosity, how is his party looking nowadays. I ask because at the time that this was happening a conservative such as he was unthinkable in the United States, and still is to be perfectly honest. And then along came Donald Trump. Simply put we’re still having to deal with the effect he’s had on the nation, and conservative parties in Canada and Great Britain are now trying to align with the Trump worldview if you will. I’m afraid to ask but I’m wondering if a similar effect has taken route in New Zealand, I hope not.

@@beantrader4723 The sin of Sodom was MISER, and you would know that if you had the minimal interested of researching it, it's even stated in the bible itself, in the book of Ezekiel. Herodotus talk about that though. You don't wanna know cause you don't care about the truth, you care about having a "universal suffering" mentality and imposing your own tantrum as truth based on arguments as solid as sand. And deep inside you know youre completely insane just got comparing being homossexual to being a criminous. Same here. On the day this passed my girlfriend and I (I'm male) opened a bottle of sparkling rose and got a bit of a dewy eye drinking a toast to the majority in our parliament who passed this. Such a wonderful moment in time for those who'd been denied a basic human right, and it cost nothing to anyone else...nothing was taken away from those in marriages or other relationships, this just let more people share the ability to affirm their bond with each other.

the fabric of society in New zealand doesn't change after gay marriage had been legalized, straight people and couples are the majority as always, wherever you go, park, public areas, supermarket, beach, you'll see straight couples holding hands, I live in New Zealand. I've never seen a single gay couple holding hands in public. The sky over New zealand didn't drop, it is still as beautiful as before, New zealand wasn't destroyed by brimstone as what the conservatives say, What has changed is gay people have the rights to marry whom they are in love with just as straight.

It is great to see a regular guy reduce the ridiculous ideas that are being trotted out by the opponents. Life will go on, hopefully better for everyone then before. The fear and imagined are in the heads of the extreme reactents. This was good advice to relax and see that nothing of the sort will occur. The sun will rise, the rain will fall, and the straight priests will carry on doing what they do. The only changes will be to relax the side that has suffered under the extremists.

Damn! I may never agree with him politically, but socially this man is alright with me. Damn, what an outstanding speech! This comment, by the way, comes from an American who is very fascinated by parliamentary politics. Even though this speech is over 7 years old now & gay marriage was already legalized in New Zealand the same year, good on you New Zealand!

OMG THANX so MUCH! ... it's a wonderfully eloquent way to say: "Does it concern you? No? So fuck off!" And he even managed to backhand the church. A pity the gay men can't marry him anymore when gay marriage is finally legitimated!
