Let me tell you guys this, If you are ever able to do a meet & greet then do it! Because they are the sweetest souls ever. And believe me i have my reason, i'll explain it so keep reading. I already saw two concerts of them live in Belgium and for the second time i had an meet & greet on 6 june. The first time i saw them was their first time in Belgium, Antwerpen in 2014. In 2015 they anounced a new concert but got cancelled because of the terrorism in my country with the bombings. I already bought a Meet & greet for that concert in 2015 and the organisation said that i would still be able to use this ticket for the concert in 2016. So i kept it and waited for more than a year almost. Now on june 6 the concert took place and while they were checking my ticket, they said that i had to re-buy it for some reason. To keep it short me and 5 other fans from Japan got stuck and had to wait. The band had to decide if we would be allowed to still meet them. They said yes and greeted us and apologized for the problem with our ticket. Toru bowed to apologize and ryota and tomoya waved and smiled really kindly. Taka took me next to him was his arms around him. While the picture got taken with my phone he noticed my phone cover being some self made art and he got so happy like a little puppy about it. Pointing to it and calling it amazing. Then they wanted to say goodbye and most fans did hugs and i was to shy so i just bowed and went away. Taka got red cheecks because he expected a hug. The cutest boys ever. This is why i love them so much. I apologize for my bad grammar! :) #oneokrockfansunited

Japanese music seems like it's always about ten years behind the U. S. But they just pick out the good parts in retrospective and put them to good use in a new element. So yeah. I heard this style getting popular about a decade back here, but it's done justice by this band. EDIT: Before you comment something, just check to see if your opinion has already been posted in response to this. People saying the same thing over and over again is wearing out my notifications. If you have more to contribute to a level-headed conversation about the topic, reply away. I'd actually enjoy that.

As a caveat to my above statement: Popular Japanese bands that make their way into the more widely viewed American eye have similar styles to the most popular styles of music originating in the U. S. about a decade earlier. I certainly don't think it's all a homogeneous blah over there. Just the most iconic of both regions at given times, in my experience.

Tselel i guess that you didn`t listen to other one ok rock songs... this is their first song that is inspired by american music and if you read some comments, you will see a lot of people complaining about it. i think that this band has a pretty unique style but the songs that are the most original, are in japanese so they are not so popular outside japan. also, check up bands like RADWIMPS or hello sleepwalkers and you might change your mind about japanese music. and if i were to judge the lyrics, there are very few american bands that can equal one ok rock`s songs (those is japanese are way more expressive because it`s easier for them to write in their mother language)

cassi farcas I can't agree with you, they have always been influenced by US rock as they say it themselves, and some songs like The Beginning can totally sound American^^ I love OOR more than everything, but you can't deny that they always had something of american musicin their style! But Mighty Long Fall is maybe the first with such electronic effects, in this way I agree, and I complained too :P Tselel I kinda agree because the first time I heard this band, to me it sounded quite like mainstream US rock but without the boring side^^ For me it was like american rock but a thousand times more powerful and energetic, like if they only kept the best of it each time. (And that's why it was perfect to me, as I was tired of US rock with all voices sounding the same and songs not being energetic enough sometimes...) So even if I don't like to admit it, I quite agree with your statement :P

I remember when 'remake' came out. I clicked the video by chance, and what i heard.. I couldn't believe my ears. I fell hard and deeply in love. Their music, it's like something I had been waiting for and I finally found it. I get that feeling again everytime they release a new song. I've been lucky to attend one of their concerts and it was the best thing ever, I will see them again in December. It's a true blessing i got to know this talented band, Thanks One Ok Rock, for your amazing music

+KuRaMaFrEaK If you are seeing them on the Back To The Future Hearts tour, you might be disappointed. I just went yesterday, and OOR opened, but all the songs they did were off the "Deluxe" version of 35XXXV, so it was all English, which kind of ruins some of the songs, IMO. Taka is still a force on stage though, and Paper Planes is WAY better live than on the original track, so that's cool.

***** I was disappointed in that they only played 5 full songs, and only from the English version of 35XXXV, but Taka and the boys still put on one HELL of a show. I would probably pay thousands (if I had thousands) to go see a full concert of theirs. I want them to do a full US Tour. If you were curious, they played a shortened version of 35XXXV, leading into Take Me To The Top, then sang Cry Out, then Decision, then brought Kellin Quinn out for Paper Planes, then closed with Mighty Long Fall. (which sounded extra wierd because I know all the Japanese lyrics, and the English ones are completely different)

+ChaosPhoenix11 I also saw those videos like +Amanda Bader. I think they still did a good job delivering the songs. I agree the setlist was underwhelming though. But they only had a very short time... naturlich they had to sing songs to promote for their new album. On a bright side, even though the songs they used were not their best (except for MLF), they still gained interest from the audience, no? (I know a lot of people were impressed). Well that means some good signs for them :) And they will probably come back to the US for their own shows again :)

Ft just released a single called Take me Now (though definitely check out their live concert videos to get a better idea of the band.) lol learning of their friendship is how I found out about OOR and now I can't stop listening to them. OOR reminds me of all the bands I used to listen to in the early 2000's.

Well, their "Mighty long fall" concert at the Yokohama Stadium is pretty much their showcase, which is actually over two hours long. I love almost the all songs there, but I especially love "Deeper Deeper", "Nothing Helps", "Clock Strikes", "Kanzen-Kankaku-Dreamer", "Wherever you are" and "The Beginning". Hope you like them.

Anything that's by OOR WILL sound like OOR because they created the song. OOR doesn't HAVE to have a set sound, they can and will change just like many bands do, like you said. I'm just tired of seeing people say that this song doesn't sound like OOR. All fans come to the point when they're disappointed because the band changed a more or less their music. (I admit I had the same feelings with Muse, for example. yet there's still something very Muse in their music...soooo...I don't know) Yet, I don't think OOR changed that much...I discovered them because I saw their "Liar" clip on tv, and then I listened to all the albums in a row =X Didn't see so much difference. :b It's hard being an artist :x When you keep doing the same to please your first fans they end up saying "always the same song..." and when you want to do something new and fresh they'll say "it's not them anymore, they've changed too much", even when it's not totally right XD

People did to get over this and criticize bands if a particular song or couple of songs is not to your particle taste and not because it does not sound like the band's usual work - that in itself is funny because I don't think One Ok Rock's songs sound like each other, if they did they'd be out of a job, out of fans, and certainly discrediting themselves as artists. Has anyone heard of artists in any medium sticking to the same material ever? Unless they were obviously milking off the same material, they'd definitely loose credentials as an artists and we artists have our pride and our need to explore. (I'm a graphic artists and I'm not satisfied with what skills's level I have, and any self respecting artists won't because there's always a whole ocean to explore. Why stay stuck in a bubble?)
