Blake Mills is a crazy talented fella. Love everything I have heard of his so far. The set up he has here is all he needs. Just enough production to put the song across and nothing gets in its way.

Had seen Blake Mills's participation in dvd of Eric Clapton's 2013 CGF & was captured by his guitar solo skills in those three songs : Born under Bad Sign, Green Onions & Save the Last Dance for Me(w/Dereck Trucks) But I was totally wrong in thinking that, going forward, this guy would break through with his lead guitar skills in rock, pop & blues musics. He's all but truly the opposite of all the above. Blake is crazily unique in his own songs writing and guitar solo playing styles that unlike most artists of his generation. And he's the best in this line, in my opinion. He's also doing well all along as musics producer & supporting guitarist in the bands for many big names in musical world such as John Legend and the likes. Good luck and continuing success in this unique musical path to Blake Mills.

What else does he play in that DVD? I heard in an interview (Matt Sweeney) that he messed up there and I wanna see it hahahaha

Not that last year's "Heigh Ho" has outworn its welcome, despite many many plays, but I look forward to another one from him.

Doesn't get much better than this. As a guitar player, I find myself in awe of his tone and adaptations of cultural music. Brilliant.

I like how the drummer is distracted that he forgot to come in on the drum brushes until Blake said something.

+Wayne Hedd Check out the opposite of that moment, Steve Gadd catching Paul Simon coming in too early... Those eyes are priceless: /watch?v=b5--Sje98jI

Very Ry Cooder sounding licks. That's a good thing.

I'm thinking there may be more here than with Ry's traditionalism (adored that it is). This guy has something else - a wider palette, a larger canvas somehow. Compare and contrast his Cuban stuff with Ry's is just the slightest example of what I mean....

Sounds just like Ry Cooder, so it's just a boring reprise of Ry Cooder. Some genius. Unless every genius sounds like Ry Cooder! Then this guy is a true genius.
