Hi, thanks for the vid! I tried to open the phone but I can't understand the bottom screws. I orderd two torx drivers from china, T2 and T0.8 and both seem to be too big for the screw. I can't understand because they look so small that I wonder if they even make smaller. Anyway, how can T2 be too big because all the sources of internet say that it is the correct size and what is the real size?

did it thanks!, word of warning pocket mode came on permanently after i put the phone back together, check for dust around the top of the case i guess. I disabled it because i ca't be bothered to take it apart again to sort the problem!

In my phone it was fixed with adhesive tape. I couldn't remove it without damaging. And you also want to remove the black cloth behind it. There is a lot of dust behind it, which results in a weaker sound. In my case it blocked the sound for at least 50%. That's why I did the repair. Oh, my replacement ear speaker came with cloth and adhesive tape, in this video it doesn't.

I suspected this was also my phone's problem and I confirmed it upon dissasemble it. Lucky I did not need to replace the ear piece, just clean the dust

Thank you so much. I took my phone to pieces twice because at first I didn't know about the black cloth. Behind it was a slot that was filled with what I assume to be dead skin and dust. No wonder the volume was so weak. I cleaned it out and now have the volume at 50%

The above video helps if you have NO sound. If you have low sound, then the issue is the grille in front of the speaker. It has very small holes that become blocked over time via dist and pocket lint. The fix is actually every easy; (1) get some blu-tack and role a small amount into a ball. Keep rolling it until the blutack is soft. Then roll it over the grille for a minute. you will see the grille change in color, going from a lighter grey to a darker one - this is the dust being removed. (2) Next, place the ball over the grille and press the blutack flat, then gently peel it away. Do this a few times. Finally get someone to phone you. you should hear a massive improvement in volume. Repeat this entire process every six months. FWIW, I have fixed two onePus 3s with this hack, mine and my gf's phone. Both were nothing to do with software or a firmware update, just a bit of tlc and dirt removal is required... you also don't need to open the phone.

Thank you! I followed your directions using poster putty. Worked wonderfully. My phone got to where people were sounding tinny and extremely faint. Thought my speaker was going bad. Followed your advice and it's like a new phone!

See my comment above dated 26/01/2020. Its not your earpiece, its the grille in front of it - it needs cleaning/unblocking.

A perfect guide to ruin your device. At least the OP 3T is completely glued. I tried it with a broken OP3T. No chance at all to remove the back cover without breaking the display.
