Nothing to worry about there, "available RAM" means unused RAM, Android always tries to use the biggest ammount of RAM posible, its simply the way the OS works. Still, what a fail from OnePlus, this launch is catastrophic such a blatant copy of the iPhones design and the dual camara setup is crap without OIS yet the price of it has skyrocketed...

I purchased my OnePlus 3 last August so it's not even a year and there has been two updated models. I guess they are playing catch-up but their strategy eludes me. I'm sticking with my 3, I like the design, weight and screen size. I'm a little unhappy with the width because it's not comfortable to hold but I like the bigger screen 😃

yknot000 I would hardly consider 3t as an upgrade from 3. other than slightly newer chipset, bigger front facing camera, and sapphire camera lens, it's pretty much the same phone. If you go to Oneplus forum, you'll see that software wise, they're treated as the same. so it's not really an upgrade, more like a iPhone 7 and 7+, if the 7+ was released a few months after 7.

I first wanted to upgrade from the o+3, but I decided after the releasse not to do so. There is not enough reasons to upgrade. I'll skip the 5 and wait until the next one. One reason why I wanted to upgrade is BATTERY. And as there is no significant improvement, it made no sense to me. I hope when we move to the oneplus6, to see: 1. better battery (I expect technology improvements by next year on the battery front with even faster charging and higher capacity) 5000 ~ 10.000 mAh 2. waterproof 3. 4k display 4. top to bottom display 5. DAB TV integration 6. Bluetooth 5 7. expandable memory 8. Camera image stabalization 9. Wireless charging support 10. lower price (oneplus starts to get too expensive!)

Agreed! 1+3 user here, same reasons I'm keeping mine for another gen. It's a great phone! no complaints with the battery and then dash charge? what more could ya want!? lol. I'm just saddened the omission of OIS and a 2.5k screen for daydream. If they had that, I might be inclined to upgrade but this phone with 6gb of ram probably could be used until 2019! if I install a custom rom :P

s8 for me. my OnePlus 3 is starting to tweak out and do some strange things. and any water that gets on the home button seriously messes with it. plus the lack of waterproofing or any redeeming or unique features turns me away from it.

OP5 lacks image stabilization in 4K videos, but it does have pretty good image stabilization (EIS) in Full-HD and lower resolutions. Honestly, I don't really need to record 4K videos on my smartphone, they are huge and I'm not going to upload 4K videos to social media. They need to be downscaled even to be played on the phone's 1080p screen!! I understand this is no excuse and the lack of any stabilization (at least software stabilization) in 4K is a con, but I'm OK with it and many users will. Having lost the optical image stabilization is a drawback for taking pictures, specially for low light ones, but reviews say OP5 handles them well, and daylight ones are suposed to be compensated with a faster camera aperture... so if unstable 4K videos is the only price to pay and the rest has improved, I'm OK with it. Let's see how it performs when I get my OP5... I'll tell you :).

The only problem with this phone is really bad noise cancellation during phone calls. Also cellular + wifi reception is nowhere close to a Samsung / Apple (in weaker signal areas they do MUUUCH better). It's inexpensive, sure but not without compromises.

This phone is a statement. It shows us, that OnePlus kinda lost their spirit of sorts. I mean, back when the One launched, OnePlus was the REAL Flagship killer in the industry. With their newer illetarations things changed and OnePlus struggles when it comes to updates and things that really matter to the consumer (proper stabilization on the camera front etc.). They are trying to sell incremental updates at higher prices and didn't quite deliver in many categories. I really hope that this will not be the beginning of the downfall of a once braver company. Its kinda sad thay nobody noticed that OP5 have better camera lens. Which is big decision point over 3T. OIS have only limited use for static scene stills. 1080p video on OP5 have good EIS. So if you take quite often photos of people or living objects, kids, friends, dogs, cats,... OP5 is better choice. OIS also means that camera module have to be larger and that would mean thicker device or more promounced camera bump, similar to Iphone 7. If OP can introduce over time at least some form of EIS in 4k, which Google Pixel already have. There will be no reason to buy 3T at all.

Listen, with these budget phones you can say what you want but the quality difference is definitely there. When you use an LG or HTC or Samsung you feel the quality in a lot of ways. The oneplus 3/5 might have good processors and some other internals but the suboptimal cameras, weak flashlights, poor wifi/data connections, and frankly appallingly bad screens are just too much sometimes. I own a oneplus 3 and I am saying this. You can't escape the fact that this is what you sign up for with a oneplus budget priced device.

5.09 "Lower power ram" This is a major mess up. If you look at performance tests regarding ram and loading speeds other phones will perform considerably better. Maybe its not a huge deal, but when considering an upgrade, it is.
