I trust 1+ that the fact they chose not to pay for a rating doesn’t diminish the phone’s dustproof and waterproof qualities (though I do like that I can take my S8+ into the bath/shower, so I’d probably want to see some KZbin videos proving just how waterproof this thing is). It appears I won’t get 1UI at this rate so I’d say OxygenOS is comparable to my Samsung Android skin. Based on some of the tradein prices OnePlus offers I might get ~$200, so this would be a $460 upgrade, essentially just to trade 30hz on the screen for my headphone jack. No Thanks.

I don't get why lots of people, even many Android users themselves fail to recognize brands like OnePlus, or the Essential phone, etc.... I could imagine though that, at the time these were kind of niche or "cheap" products that were lesser than standard. Of course not being a brand name, that was expected. But now, I could add brands like OnePlus, Huawei, or even OPPO into the whole mix because their quality has now been up to that standard, that those people who buy brand name products expect. Of course being that they do not have the same resources and experience in the industry, but again, they now should be considered by these people as actual good choices.

You can easily make ANY Android phone feel more snappy by speeding up or turning off the animations. First, you need to enable the Developer options menu by tapping 'Build number' 7 times in the Settings. Next, in the Developer settings, you can adjust these values: - Window Animation scale - Transition Animation Scale - Animator Animation Scale I personally set these all to 0.5x, this means all animations are twice as fast, and my phone feels much snappier.

I never really got how wireless charging is better than a cable (not just a gimmick)? You have to have a wireless pad that is plugged into a power socket and then put your phone on top of it.. how is that more efficient or different than connecting a cable that's plugged into a power socket, which is much faster at charging anyways. With a cable (especially if you buy a long one) you can happily still hold and use your phone as normal whilst still charging it.. On a wireless pad you have to leave it on top of the pad the entire time... Such a gimmick
@emmnuelj61365 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I don't know why that's a deal breaker for many people.
@matthewbitter5325 жыл бұрын
nobody said it was better...it's just nice to have. considering that the phone has a glass back and that the wireless charging coil doesn't add much to the cost, it doesn't make sense that they don't having...plus, thats an area where they could innovate on to make it as fast as wired charging
@yattasuccess92125 жыл бұрын
Personally, the only reason how I needed wireless charging was longevity. My Samsung S6's charging port has official died/has been broken, We had it replaced, still broken. I can't just keep on replacing it for it to break with the motherboard inside, so luckily it has Wireless charging. And therefore that's what I used. But obviously, that's not a valid reason and just a sort of, other way to charge. Because my use case is completely not the goal of Wireless charging at least in most peoples eyes'. Personally I would think that it's because of the convenience, of just plopping down your phone somewhere and it charges without you having to care about it dropping and breaking a cable, or not having to worry about it at all. Though I think those are very slim reasons to really need wireless charging support. Wired is also generally faster on most of these devices, and you can use Data transfer. I just don't see the benefit of Wireless besides the perceived "convenience" of it, of being just nice to have. But again, it would be nice to have, as Matthew Bitter already said, if the Phone already has a glass back or a ceramic back, the wireless charging coil doesn't cost that much already. Personally it's not a dealbreaker for me, it's more-important for me to have super fast wireless charging. The only reason I'd want Wireless charging is if I wanted a sort of redundancy for the way to charge, but that's a really far-off usage of the wireless charging feature, and I'm fine without it.

Want to move your phone charging on the table? Just move it to the chair. The charging pads keep your phone in place so you can't use it while you charge either. So I'm curious: Android phones come with the option of unlocking the developer settings. In developer settings you're able to turn off animations or make them faster. 1x, 0.5x and none are options to choose from. All Android phones default to 1x. Which means it's not at top speed, because the animations are slower (smoother). I'd like to see if OnePlus defaults to 1x as all other phones do. I use my Honor 10 on 0.5x and it's just about the same.
