OnePlus 7T McLaren Edition Review: Worth it in 2020?

The Oneplus 7 Pro has been out for almost a year and the Oneplus 7T McLaren has only been out for a short while, but both are basically the same this year. They have a crazy amount of RAM and storage options, with some of the fastest ans smoothest Android performance that I have experienced. Is the Oneplus 7 Pro family worth buying in 2020, why are these not the best phones on the market, or maybe they are! Here is my review of the Oneplus 7T McLaren but it also applies to the OnePlus 7 Pro, so is it worth buying today?

I'm also watching this video on my 7t pro McLaren 5G and you pretty much nailed the review. However even though you mentioned the pop up camera, you didn't emphasize how the display is completely uninterrupted

Wireless charging is a gimmick and it takes forever for phones to charge verses a regular charger.

@@rellbgm4473 wireless charging may not be as fast as wired, but it most definitely is not a gimmick. I'm holding off on upgrading from my S8 until the OP8 drops as it's supposed to finally support it. No IP rating and no wireless charging are deal breakers for me.

Good honest review 👍. I've got a OnePlus 7 pro and I can't think of a phone that would be worth upgrading to on 2020. Yes it's not a perfect camera, but for me it's way good enough for me.

@@TheJabberTech This phone is an absolute beast. I've had every Note (except the exploding one) and I got fed up with Samsung only providing 2 (incredibly late) software updates. OnePlus is living up to their mantra the "flagship killer" because Samsung is as good as dead to me.

@@TheJabberTech I opted for the McLaren because of the 5G capabilities. Hopefully, they roll out some camera tweaks but I've installed the GCam port and picture quality is much better.

I hope they updated the camera software cuz I have one coming in the mail today... I have a Pixel 3 and I wanted the Pixel 4 but got the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G instead. I had one when they originally came out but it was stolen from my truck when I was down Florida. Great phone!!! The style and familiarity pushed me to buy it again cuz I was thinking about the Note 20 Ultra and/or Galaxy 20 Ultra (cuz of removable SD card) but I went with the OnePlus. Already ordered an OtterBox Symmetry (clear, of course!!!) & a plug in wireless charging add on that goes inside the phone case. Gotta have wireless charging and I used these first on my Samsung Note 4. Gotta have wireless charging... wireless chargers I have also second as a kickstand for watching KZbin!!!!

Just bought one for my wife for her valentine's gift she really likes taking pictures the most and I thought this phone has the best picture taking capability so i wasnt sure wheather to get her this one or the google pixel 4 :/ hope I made the right choice by getting this one.

I parted company with this phone. There are significant issues with the GPS that haven't been resolved since it's release. It never maintains a stable lock. My old Samsung J5 and ancient LG G4 have no problems locking onto GPS. Avoid if you need to use GPS.

A lot of people have success with the Google Camera apk, you could try that but there are always bugs, so I tend not to use it

I think the T-Mobile firmware is the issue. When I switched to international the camera got significantly better.

No issues on my end. U might want to check ur settings. The weather widget needs permission to run in the background. Make sure this widget doesn't have those restrictions if you've restricted background use to conserve battery life.

The oneplus 7t pro price will definitely drop when 8 comes out. If you prefer that full screen display and dont really care about 5g get this. The performance difference between 855+ and 865 isn't that noticeable irl

I bought this phone but then returned. The hardware is really amazing and the software is very smooth, but it ends there. Software doesn't have half the features that a Samsung phone has. Like, you can't have folders in app drawer, you can't easily create or set home page, you can't add apps to home screen folders easily, it doesn't support adaptive icons etc. Wasn't my taste at all.

All USBC chargers work with Oneplus devices. For Warp Charge you need to use the Oneplus power brick and cable, but that comes in the box anyways. It can still charge quite fast over normal USBC chargers in case you are in a position in which you do not have your Oneplus brick and cable. The charging situation is definitely not a reason to stay away from this device as it's one of the things I love the most about it!
