Mi 11 Ultra has 1/1.12" sensor size, a tad bigger than the Nokia 808's 1/1.2". It would be an interesting comparison!

@@vessk000 since i wasnt personally there, i cant tell exactly but in some cases i do like some photos taked with oneplus but other than that, Nokia all the way, i said i wasnt there personally with a reason because the eyes see different and the cameras perspective more different.. but in most of the cases i like Nokia photos.. the processing, colors, details.. stabilization.. everything

The 808 is unbeatable in freezing motion with that xenon flash, everytime I'm going to kids events (birthdays, games) it's my main camera for that matters

That is why Xenon flash is still my favourite feature for the 808 and also the Lumia 1020.

The only area where I see the OnePlus beats the Nokia is dynamic range, especially in lowlight conditions. Even though I do question its HDR performance in daylight, it is much better in the OnePlus than the Nokia. I also see a tough battle for macro performance as both phones produced great macro photos. But sadly, the Nokia still wins for natural details and colours. What really surprised me a lot is the Nokia's full resolution image in daylight. It's almost as if it was taken by a DSLR camera! It really does beggars belief. As for the Nokia's Xenon flash, well that is an absolute gem to have.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that in Nokia there is no special algorithm for achieving high dynamic range. If you implement it with third-party programs, you will be surprised at the result. It seems to me that it makes no sense to compare the dynamic range. It's the same as comparing a smartphone with a wide-angle lens to another smartphone that doesn't have a wide-angle lens. Emphasis on "doesn't have"

The 808 wins by a mile, its photos look so natural and sharp. I don't know exactly what OnePlus is doing or not doing in their processing but it ruins their photos.

That is the problem with smartphone cameras with Quad Bayer camera sensor. It may create bigger effective pixel size, but it does sacrifice some detail.

I remembered analyzing Vivo X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ camera performance, and the manually-downscaled 12MP photo from 48MP actually produced much better photo quality than the pixel-binned 12MP. The one where I really cannot see any difference between manually-downscaled 12MP and pixel binned 12MP are Xiaomi phones, even on the Mi 10 Ultra.

The 808 pictures have a nice antique look in some shots to them, which I really like. Its still a good shooter! Ie: even though you took the picture at the same time as the one plus, they just look aged naturally like they were taken years ago....

Exactly. I could not find the right words to describe the difference. Thank you. Truth be told, my 808 does not have the sharpness, dynamic range and color of newer phones, but it has its own place in my daily life. Worst part is the shaky video;we are spoiled with the newer hones stabilization capabilities

Phones still tend to have that sharpened, crunchy “phone look” to them. Better dynamic range and other advantages, but would be nice to get new one with natural processing
