What really confuses me about iphones is that, how come iphone 12 pro is priced 30k more than the regular 12 when the only upgrade is with the third zoom lens. Every other aspects are the same including resolution, processor and the two main and wide lens. How come just one extra lens is making such a huge difference in price?

It's one extra lens, LiDAR sensor, double the storage capacity (128GB) and build materials. Stainless steel costs much more than Aluminium. LiDAR sensor is not cheap either, 128GB itself costs more than 64GB that is on 12. Add to it the extra taxes that the Government levies on phones priced higher than a specific amount, and the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are imported (not manufactured in India), so there are even more taxes and import duties on it.

Thanks for the video. A consistent viewer of your videos. Nice clicks and great effort putting up these together. I've been using the Nord 2 and agree with the points you have mentioned. The main sensor is good. But HDR is pathetic, hence I always keep it off. I've seen a lot of videos saying that it has improved after the software update, not sure on what aspects are they commenting that. Focussing on close objects is a pain in Nord 2. Even trying to do a manual focus by tapping the screen isn't great. It's a hit or a miss (Mostly a miss). Switching to Expert mode can do the trick. The selfie camera ain't great. Gets even worse with that HDR again. Video and audio is great with the Nord 2. The Gcam also makes a difference in Nord 2. Overall the phone is great, hope this fix the camera issues with new updates.

I am equally surprised when people say that HDR has improved after updates. I feel either those people dont check it properly, or they don't know that performance was same before the update or they just say its improved coz the update log says so. I really doubt that the cameras will get any better with updated this point onwards. The company has got all the PR coverage that it wanted. The phone is already 2 months old, which is the duration when companies work most on all the improvements that think are possible. I feel Gcam is the only saviour for the Nord 2, which is sad, because majority of the people getting this phone wont install it on their phones.

@@busybee2148 lol see pixel 5 sensor they used same pixel 2 sensor which is 4 year old and processors is 750G means poor isp still Pixel photos is same as iphone 12(not pro max) but now they used 50mp GN1 which is much bigger than iphone 13 12mp and now they gave their own white chepeal processor means more better optimisation this time pixel 6 easily killed 13/13 pro max in photos

In low light environement you must use Night mode, and Nord 2 night mode is very very good. If you touch the screen you can adjust the brightness level. Also Nord 2 can make photos almost in completely dark with Ultra Dark mode and photos are really stunning with colors and details that can t be seen by naked eyes, actually transform night photos in daylight photos. I wonder if Iphone or any other phone can do that. I own a Nord 2 phone and the low light photos seems much brighter than yours.(eg. at 10:14 the Nord 2 image is too dark, the same at 10:43- the sky is too darkened ...the picture from the left seems taken by Nord2 !) On Nord 2 the GCam app is good , but standard camera app with HDR off is better.

The videos shows image processing is more important. Most people already know that high megapixel counts are just gimmicks. Higher megapixels on small sensor means each pixel is smaller and gathers less information, whereas less megapixels on same size sensor means each pixel is larger and gather much more light and information. There is a reason why most DSLR Cameras have 18-24 megapixels on a 1 inch sensor. Even my Sony A7S iii has 12 megapixels on a 1 inch sensor.

Large size pixels (without pixel binning) result in detailed and better looking images. That’s the reason Apple and google stuck to 12 or 16 mp cameras. Now that Sony is making better custom sensors for them with larger individual pixels, they are looking to shift to higher resolution. Plus these companies know how to handle the image processing in the background. OnePlus on the other hand doesn’t.
