I am an iphone guy, I have owned very single iphone since high school, Yes I got 14pro max, First time for me, bought this budget phone, $299, came with ear buds, case and fast charger. I really like the looks , sounds, head phone jack, super fast charging, better than my iphone, My only complain for this budget phone, wish it had 4k video recording. Nice review

I think the low and mid range is where exciting things are happening with phones. Think about it 120hz display, 5g, 128gb storage for $300 isn't bad and it will likely be a phone that is free on T-mobile or other US carriers. Last year I got a TCL Stylus 5G b/c I wanted to try a stylus phone. I use it as a 2nd phone, my Pixel 6a is better, but the TCL would be fine if that's all I had.

I just ordered this phone for my Brother. He does not do much with camera, no social media either using as a phone with minimal messaging. I ordered a sandstone case from OnePlus at the same time which should deal with the camera style on the back of the phone. If he gets decent battery life with the large battery is a plus. Thanks for the review.

Lot more to desire.. 1. Onplus oxygen os is the next thing closest to vanilla android. 2. Phones whit highest consumer support. I'm running oneplus One phone whit the newest Android os whit out Anny issues. Smooth! It's your phone. They are all open to use after a year. 3. Only OS written with direct support for the cpu gpu, around Google api. It's why it's so damn fast. Closest thing to ios

For the money it's lovely, and has expandable storage. What's not to like? I think it's pretty nice looking, even if it isn't "premium". It's a perfectly serviceable device and I woudn't mind having to use one. Yes, please do review more like these.

Is there any battery optimisation settings for system apps like Gmail? Push notifications don't work in Gmail in many Color OS devices. What's the Max Wi-Fi speed of the device? Wi-Fi speed is limited to 72Mbps with software, in many Color OS devices?

$300 is not "inexpensive." I'm tired of 'more expensive' = better in the US. That's not necessarily true and sometimes it doesn't really matter. Golden toilet paper might be better, but i am not going to spend $1000 on a roll of toilet paper I have a phone from- the moto g play 2013- 2013!!! and it would be great if it weren't so 'old' and subjected to 'abuse' (my grandmother, who now has dementia would spend all night typing away at it). Now it's kind of 'slow' and of course it doesn't have quite the 'snappy' UI of todays phones, oh and it doesn't support data anymore. But I look at it and it still chugs on and it's actually pretty cool. It's so sad. I used to have a $100 phone in 2016 when I was still a kid (now 20) and it was great. Why, in 2024 are there no phones which are not "budget", as you call them, but "normally"/'reasonably priced'? We're stuck with like four brands while the rest of the world enjoys so many 'brands'! imho it's because of many things, but in big part because of the tech reviewers (not you of course) and lack of people choosing to think. If people don’t shop smarter, phone makers don’t have 'incentive' to make smarter/better- smarter/better usually costs money. And well, one could say it's because US people have more money. Well... pew research actually says most americans are struggling and if one looks at 'individual median income' it's actually quite low... And it's in other areas like headphones too. The only "non-budget" budget!?!?! headphones 'apparently' are $300... but when one looks at reviews on amazon the normally priced $40-150 headphones are actually the ones with the most reviews (which probably means most buys) and I'm sure the 'narratives' of what is 'budget' and not budget supports way more people buying the $300 ones than normally would! anyway, have a nice day and thanks for reading this. :-)
