I spent some time understanding what I actually need to buy. There are tons of parts on ebay (a lot cheaper than from ifixit, etc (sorry)) but it would help if you would clarify the differences. I think an "LCD Screen Display + Digitizer Touch Glass Assembly" is what you're working with here, yes? That means switching the whole screen, but its possible to buy just pre-mounted digitizer+glass or just simply the glass itself. Is it advisable to try switching just the glass and digitizer to save some cash and keep the old screen?

A lot of things can go wrong when you try and replace just the glass, you might end up ruining both the digitizer and the actual LCD matrix, you'll have to invest again in another replacement. The assembly on the other hand is much easier to replace - no heat guns or glue necessary just a couple screwdrivers and spudgers, also the digitizer and glass are already professionally glued to each other and to the frame- minimum hassle for us. (the price difference is pretty meager when you consider the convenience and the cost of additional repairs)

You got the two cables wrong. The short one at the top is acutally the digitizer, and the long slim one is the LCD.

FAQ: 1.: 180F..220F = 82C..104C 2.: the Topleft cable = digitizer-calbe the mostright on the motherbord = LCD-cable 3.: the flex-coaxcable is for 2G and 3G reception, whereas LTE an WIFI is mounted on the motherboard via pogo-pins. replacement cables are available (eg. ebay) 4.: there are flexcables for volume- and powerbuttons out there for under 3 bucks (little solder skills needed) 5.: some shops sell sepearate digitizer-units . replacing these is very challenging.

About the adhesive... you cut it yourself?? It is not already placed on the new digitizer glass?

Yeah, I wonder about the tape too. Can you get any kind of double sided tape and just glue the new screen on?

New phone screens do not usually come with adhesive

The touch on one side of my phone stopped working, later on I dropped my phone and the screen shattered also the touch stopped working now on all of the screen, It stills displays the content but it won’t register when I touch it, will this change of LCD digitizer solve this issue for me?

actually i bought the whole frame+lcd+digitizer premounted for 35€ on aliexpress delivered. so its no point to do all this heatgun thing now

There is like nothing to do, just unscrew the old screen assembly and screw the new one in. And bob's your uncle.

Hi. In the process of replacing my OPO screen and digitizer, I snapped the power button flex cable. What is the best method I should use to fix this problem? Or is resoldering the only option? Thanks.

You probably have to resolder. I snapped the volume flex cable while doing the exact same thing. So i ordered a new flex cable and soldered it on myself. Worked just fine :-)

are there a type of screen brand you recommend to replace it or are they all pretty much the same? Also how much would the screen cost? Is there no way to remove just the glass? I notice that my screen still works just the cracked glass does not allow touch to happen.
