You can have seperate wallpapers for outer and inner display....just set the wallpaper you want in the mode you want. There's even a checkbox at the top "apply to outer display"

You can absolutely do two different backgrounds, one for the front display, the second for the inside. When selecting your photo, hit use as "Photos, wallpaper." Once you're attempting to position your picture, on the bottom, it says "Also apply to main screen" which a check mark next to it. UNCHECK the check mark, that becomes your front display wallpaper only. Rinse and repeat for inside wallpaper, and you have two different wallpapers for each mode. I am absolutely enjoying the OnePlus Open. Best phone I've ever had. Especially love how it comes with an incredibly fast charger. Don't think I could ever go back to a regular slab phone!

Looking at getting the open. IV always been apple, then last year got the nothing phone 2, definitely prefer android but the camera on this is pretty shit. I watch alot of KZbin but not sure If it's worth getting a fold if that makes sense

Great video J. I've been using OnePlus devices since the OnePlus 1 and have watched the company grow into a formidable force in the mobile industry. They faltered during the OnePlus 8, 9 and 10 series releases IMO but made a decent comeback with the OP11 and OP Open. On a side note I'm able to have different wallpapers on the lock screen, cover screen and when I open the device up. All you have to do is choose a wallpaper when the device is unfolded and untick the also apply to cover screen option. Close the device and choose another wallpaper and untick the also apply to main screen option. Enjoy!!!

I'm debating trading in my pixel fold for the OnePlus open. I find myself using the front screen of the pixel like 95% of the time. Love the phone but the battery life is trash. I'd lose wireless charging but gain much faster charging and better battery life.

my only grape is the Supervooc charger is proprietary tech as you can't use other 67w< chargers to fast charge the open/find n3 and vice versa, you can't use the brick to fast charge the other device at the full 67w limit. so you gotta leave one spot on your wall plug for it. one spot in your house. and you gotta bring that brick plus other when you're traveling rendering other "one for all chargers" not very much so. also some minor stuff on the software side but those are fixable via updates as it's still relatively "new", but the supervooc just can't be fixed. and the 2800nits is just bs but its' still very very bright like other flagships still rolling out. i just wish they cut the crap on those one upping the others on the number game. kinda like the camera hardware is superb, on paper. it's not a world of different vs the zfold5's actual photos/vids since zfold5 has a much underwhelming spec sheet on paper for the camera department. but like i've said, these are fixable from updates.

Just a remark: Realme is the same company therefore the Realme Superdart 66W charger works with Oneplus Open perfectly. But you are right, if you want to use other chargers, you are outta luck.

I just sold my ROG phone 7 to get money toward this phone 🙈 I had also already sold a lenovo legion duel 2 before I knew i wanted the OnePlus Open. It checks all my boxes for a first foldable. Plus I like the fact that they're promising 4 years of software updates. My gaming phones only get 2 updates. I may not be upgrading from this phone for years, cause its definitely fast enough.

You're absolutely right in regards to the charging break. So what we can do as consumers is you got to ask yourself is the Galaxy s24 Ultra or any future devices worth buying year after year. For me the answer is simple... absolutely not. I'm watching your video on my OnePlus open it's closed because I'm driving. But I've already made up in my mind that I'm getting the OnePlus 12 no if and or butts about it. And I would say ask yourself is the ultra going to be that much better than the OnePlus 12 and I highly doubt it. So do what I did I have an s22 ultra which I will keep as an emergency phone. And keep that device until it's completely or virtually antiquated.

It's the best foldable currently, without a doubt, but if it gets damaged, it's complicated. I'm from Portugal, we don't have OnePlus here, we have to buy through the website or go to third-party stores. Even with the OnePlus warranty, we have to send the smartphone to Spain, where the closest official repairer that OnePlus works with is located 😢

You can get multiple wallpapers. I think you probably met different setups for the separate screens? But my main screen got a different lock screen wallpaper than the cover screen as well as regular wallpaper is different from each other. But I love your review and perspective on this device cuz I really love this device.

Thanks for the update after 4 months. Great job 1+ . Finally some competition for Samsung. Samsung were just too too complacent with the fold 5. When I saw the device I couldn't believe Samsung would release a device like that after 4 years : narrow outer screen, too heavy, no s pen use on outer screen, too thick. I hate that narrow outer screen, I can't believe Samsung released something like that. Thanks 1+ , please keep it up.

Great video but I won’t lie I had to return my one plus open due to terrible signal and a lot of software issues. I did see an update fixed things but I had already returned it. I honestly like the Samsung fold 5 better just bc of the pen, and durability. The form factor was amazing, the camera was great and the sound is incredible! I can see why people like it as well. The thing that holds me back from getting the OnePlus open is if anything goes wrong with it I have to send the phone back! It's my main driver of a phone and I cannot send it back and not have a phone! They should send me a phone. I will send them mine. Get it fixed and I'll send it back! Otherwise I can't get the phone

Yes, my OnePlus Open screen cracked down the center. I've sent it back for repairs and they are not staying in contact with me. I've emailed and called 3x and cannot get an update. They need support in the US, especially a repair facility.

These companies not giving you a charging brick then claiming its for the environment is crazy. They think we are dumb. If it's for the environment, why are you also trying to sell me a charging brick that comes with it's own packaging and separate delivery that use even more resources than if you just put it in the box to begin with. You shouldn't be allowed to advertise your charging speed to sell more phones unless you include a way to charge the phone at the advertised speed in the box.

I have been a loyal Samsung Fold buyer since day 1. With that said,, I agree with J Williams. My Samsung Fold 5 feels outdated, definitely not top of the line specs. I was able to manage a trade in (With my Z Fold 5) for the Open with priority shipping for a total of $364 out the door!. Couldn't pass it up! I just completed my order an hour ago.

Just checked the settings on my OnePlus 8 Pro. There is definitely an option (Settings -->Home Screen-->Home Screen Layout) that allows you to set the number of rows and columns. I have mine on 5x5, but it goes up to 6x5. That's six vertical rows and five horizontal.
