OnePlus should have made the stylus available for the global market with the release of apex which would have made oneplus open users very happy and appeal to unsure buyers.

Why are foldables going smaller rather than going bigger (taller + wider)?? the vivo x fold 1st version is the biggest foldable ever, which was years ago.

Much more fair comparison to the current OnePlus vs. the Find N3 (for cell bands and global compatibility). They should have put an 8 gen 3 in it and maybe updated the cameras at least then the price would be acceptable. Charging full pop though for outdated tech (as great as it is) is something most people arent dumb enough to do (i would hope).

Outdated sounds crazy to me using a one plus 8. Last/previous gen yeah but outdated, not by a long shot.

@aeipee13 not super outdated, and still fast as ever but yes still outdated whether you like it or not. One plus 8 is very outdated however at this point though lol...you are way overdue for an upgrade.

Just bought one from the official OnePlus UK store for £1350 with a free 80w UK plug charger and the OnePlus Watch 2. That’s a banging deal. They offer discounts for students, key workers, etc.

I think the OnePlus Open is a great marriage between current hardware we see from Chinese manufacturers and software features from Samsung.

OnePlus is a Chinese company. There sister companies Oppo, Vivo, and Realme. All are owned by BBK Electronics.

@@jimmcnevin9367 I know, I just meant more for US consumers that don't want to import phones. Pixel doesn't have enough software customization and Galaxy front display is still too narrow.

I'm actually switching from the Open to the 9 Pro Fold. It's a bit sad because I still feel like Open's hardware is the best, I just can't handle OxygenOS anymore. It feels unresponsive (especially when closing apps) and the fact that u can't change the home screen grid size...? I'm torn, but Google is the way. Software is more important.

Its not exactly the same phone as the Oppo Find N3. The Oppo had an Oppo logo on the back not a OnePlus logo 😂 All jokes aside, some KZbinrs praising the upgrades of 1tb storage and a security chip when exactly the same phone was released a year ago under a sister brand with those "upgrades". It would have been nice for OnePlus to add the 8 Gen 3 chip or something to make it slightly different.

Exactly! And you find that for 99% of US reviewers, Chinese phones don't exist. I even asked one why he didn't review them, and he said because they aren't released there, so what's the point? So most probably don't even know about the Oppo version !! 😂

I purchased a case that's the sameish red and it's as thin as the one in the box. The case has a nice feel and covers the camera. It takes away the slipperyness of the camera and the cutouts for the camera leaves a nice spot to put my finger

I still think that they had the red 16GB/1TB version in China since launch and they're just now almost a year later re-releasing it as a global device. I can't lie though, if Thailand hadn't gotten a global Oppo Find N3, I would have ordered this guy.

I love my OnePlus Open but there's no way I would buy the Apex edition. For one thing 512gb is still more storage than I really need. But also, if I really needed the 1tb I would just buy the OPPO version because I don't need Android Auto. That being said I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for a global 1tb foldable because it's still a great device. Expensive, yes, but not compared to the Zfold 6 or Pixel fold 2. However the Open 2 should be coming in the next 6 months so I would advise anyone looking for that foldable to wait for the Open 2

You know what, it's a great phone for people who are in the market for buying a OnePlus Open. But, they should have priced it maybe 50€ higher than the "normal" one costs right now - 75€ max. Not to mention the red OPPO Find N3 that's even a whole lot cheaper. I have the green OnePlus Open, ordered the red case that comes in the Find N3's box from Aliexpress and just like that i have the new Apex edition. 😅

from years no one are a REAL RED COLOR, the Ferrari red color like the S10 plus, its too ugly dark red (blood color)!!
