I'm glad a reviewer finally said what I was thinking about the non-functional spinning button. As soon as I heard that it didn't do anything, and the excuse was "it makes it more durable," I was calling BS. Why does it have the knurling which is standard on any digital crown for easier spinning? They definitely had bigger plans for that thing.

Cost comparisons are so tricky. Not only are they outdated within weeks (the TicWatch Pro 5 has fluctuated by as much as £100 in the last few days), but often you can get these devices for far less, if you're smart about it. I had to return my £229 TicWatch and was able to buy the OPW2 with free OP Buds 3 using coupons and such with preordering, and STILL had change left over. I've had mine for a few days now and in my use case, it's just pipping the TicWatch Pro 5 for battery life. I guess if you don't use it all the time, the benefits of the second processor outweigh not having to turn on an OLED screen. Generally is just a nicer watch all round than the TWP5 too, minus the rotating crown of course.

Very cool. I was intrigued when this watch was announced. I like what Google is doing with wearOS to get more battery life out of these devices. It's just hard for me to justify moving away from the Samsung offerings. All my health tracking data is in there since I've had Galaxy Watches for a couple generations now. And my Watch5 Pro gets close to 3 days of battery life for me already anyway (usually 2 days, 10 hr). I think if I were to switch away from Samsung today, it'd be to move over to Garmin. Their health and sleep tracking is better. And since they've started to put AMOLED touch screens in their newer watches, they seem to feel more like actual smart watches today than the general fitness trackers they used to feel like. I have a Forerunner 945 that I like well enough but I only ever put it on when running. No touch screen and the watch feeling so damn light on my wrist make it a non-starter for a daily wear for me.

You are not completely right that ideas came from Google. The idea is from Oppo to include messages on low power chip and Google added it to WearOS working closely with them. Apart from messages other things running on low power chip are available to other OEMs but they choose not to use them because it is easier for Samsung to release almost the same watch every year instead of innovating by creating a better and more efficient OS. Doesn't leave room for improvement in the health tracking nonsense because they literally stated that this watch was meant for people who were less Fitness eccentric and wanted more of a realistic-looking timepiece where the Smartwatch features came first this is the whole reason why they added their secondary chip if you want to use it as only a fitness watch you can go into that smart mode but if you want to use it as they intended it with the minimal features they give you for Fitness you use it in the regular Smart Mode. The OnePlus 2r has been stated to be even more for the person who is a more timepiece ask where as the body is aluminum vs stainless steel or Titanium because the people that would choose to wear that watch aren't people that are doing Fitness crap spelunking mountain climbing jogging and all that other nonsense that they would probably buy a Garmin or something else for anyway. That's why I'm leaving my Galaxy watch 6 classic and going to the OnePlus watch 2r.... as I don't feel like continuously needing to pay 4 to 600 for a fancy-looking fitness watch that's just becoming less of a timepiece and more of an apple Fitness competitor than ever before and with companies like Movado fossil and Asus no longer in the game there are only a few options left to go to such as OnePlus or Huawei. As far as this watch not being dedicated solely to Fitness and more so being an actual Smartwatch timepiece is something that Oppo and its parent company have come out with and stated... so perhaps doing a little bit more homework or adding that in to the justification of the watch would have probably made at least a little bit of a difference on The View count considering the fact that there are a lot of people that are reviewing this who would like an opinion that wasn't solely based on its health and fitness features

As someone who prefers Apple's smartwatch hardware design (I mean seriously, why would you even want a *smart* watch of all things to be anything other than a square display? A round display just wastes space for anything that isn't in the exact center of the display. Plus, a square display just looks better imo) But even so, I can still appreciate this hardware, it *looks* utterly gorgeous! My only issue is idk if this is anything I'd buy, I've never had a smart watch so maybe I don't know what I'm missing out on, but I just want a smartwatch for basically keeping track of my exercising, and maybe listening to music to display to the watch instead of constantly pulling out my phone to switch tracks. That's it. It's one of those things where I think I need to buy into a cheapo smartwatch, see what other functionality there is, and maybe I will find the hook that makes it seem worth it to spend 200, 300 on a smartwatch (which seems utterly ridiculous at the moment when my current phone is going on 4 years, having been bought at about $300) I wish I knew what major brands are creating smartwatches in the sub-$100 range, which don't look utterly horrible and cheap and tacky.

The way I see it is most people don't buy you products the day they get released. Most people wait until something happens to their all device or they have a bit of extra money and want to treat themselves. So the way I see it is most people are better off looking at a video that came out maybe a couple weeks after the devices released because that gives the content creator and more time to really review the device and come out with better understanding of the product, it's pros and cons, and produce better content. If you seriously need to watch reviews of every single tech product the moment it becomes available then there are probably better channels out there for you but then I think you're a sacrificing quality for instant and gratification
