I made this... 9 years ago before they got big, One Republic asked MySpace fans to make a
Video for their then unknown song "apologize". I made this film and shortly after Timbaland remixed the track and made the band famous. I now work as a filmmaker professionally.

I disagree to be honest. I think the version with Timbaland is slightly better, his backing vocal has a haunting quality that adds to the emotion of the song. To be honest I'd already heard this song through a friend who's much more savvy about music than me and I thought the 'remix' wouldn't be anywhere near as good until I heard it. I respect your opinion of course, I just feel there's something 'extra' in the version with Timbaland even though I can't quite put my finger on what that something is. Either way it's a beautiful song.

Fairly certain this version is a violin instead of the cello. As far as the spammed Timbaland version - this one doesn't have his garbage stock casio keyboard beat added to it or the 'eh eh eh' crap, so it wins just because of that. +Wesley Henrique There are a number of versions of Apologize, all produced by Greg Wells, as producer on his own, or as co-producer (the Timbaland co-produced one was for Timbaland's own album, and so brought attention to the relatively unknown One Republic; not a bad thing !!!) ; One Republic were dropped by their label, and so put their debut album, the whole kit and kaboodle, all mixed and mastered, the one the label didn't want anymore, up on Myspace; and the rest is history; Greg himself tells it best; please do hear him tell it for yourself; the thing is, believe it or not, the band didn't even want to record the song; they didn't think it fit in; Greg pushed them to; just like Over The Rainbow, 'the song of the 20th century' had to be fought for to be in The Wizard Of Oz; and (a personal favourite) Bacharach & David's Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, from Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid had to be fought for as well; the director, George Roy Hill fighting for it; the studio didn't want it in the movie; btw, at the same time they dropped One Republic, the label dropped Katy Perry too !!! We all make mistakes, eh! :-)))

Rodrigo García Esta canción no tiene video oficial ya que no fue lanzado como single, exceptuando la version de Timbaland la cual si tiene video. (La persona que hizo este video lo hizo por dos razones, la primera por un proyecto audiovisual, y segundo por que le gustaba tanto la version original que pensó que merecía un video)

Amazing video. If you sync up this version with the yimbaland version and play them at the same time on your headphones, it sounds angelic. My friend and I did that manually in high school with 2 zunes, and 2 sets of earphones 😂
