I've been working through a lot of problems lately as I move into college, and in the midst of it all, I realized this song was playing on loop in my head. I couldn't tell you why, I'd never listened to it aside from hearing it on the radio a lot when I was younger. But I looked it up, and as I did, I just couldn't stop crying. I found a video of DAY6 covering this, but I didn't recognize the song. I like One Republic though, so I clicked it. I listen to the words and suddenly I'm seven years old again, hearing this on the radio, mumbling along as best I can. You know, whenever someone asked me, "what's your favorite song?" I always struggled to answer that question. But I am just now realizing I can truly call this one of my favorite songs, and that is a powerful title to have for someone like me. This song truly has something special. I first started listening to it when I was in middle school, and it resonated with me ever since. I always find myself coming back to this song and feeling understood, even though those feelings are hard to put into words. This song does it for me. It's hard to name a song you feel like can truly capture a part of your character but this one just does it for me perfectly. Thank you One Republic for always making music that is quite literally timeless to me. I never expressed it enough.
