My god this game. This isn't a game. It's an experience. It's done so well it doesn't feel fake like other games. This feels like the story of a real life kid trying to get home from wherever he is, having no clue as to how he got there or why. I can't praise this game enough. We need more games like this!

GarrettCube I agree. If I could make something this beautiful, I would. But I can't write good stories, never could. They always end up wrong. Some aspect of it, some detail just messes with the whole thing. There are so many things I can do, but I could never in a million years make something that touches the heart in the same way that this does.

I know niko is a character and the solstice ending is the good ending but I felt like niko was my friend and I bonded with niko but after they left I felt like I lost a true friend I know it’s a game but it had an impact on me

Just because you can't see someone doesn't mean they're gone. Even if you never see someone again, you'll be in their memory just as they are in yours. That's something I've learned in my life. True friends have a habit of sticking with you in spirit.

Yeah, they're not gone. No one is ever really gone until you hold them dear to your heart. Niko is happy now, with their mama and their friends, and have a bright future ahead. I'm happy I helped them save the world, and go back home. That's enough of a reward for me. As much as I miss Niko, I know they're happy and that makes me happy too.

thats so true the first time i finisht this game i cryed so much xD, it felt strange to me after i finished i was filled with happiness and sadness at the same time, but deeper i felt empty somehow knowing i wont ever see niko again that if i replay i will just see a recording and not experience it again, it will never be the same. to me this was not s game it was a story where we are all part of and in the end when you achieve your final goal, to save niko and the world, you dont want to finish it cause you will never see niko nor everyone of the NPC's again but you have to finish it, niko needs to and you have to no matter how you will miss him and that is just heartbreaking, this games makes you feel so much in diferent ways at the same time....for me one shot is a part of me and it will always alive,niko,rue,silver everyone cause they will be in our memory. in the end this game shows you thay everything is real and besides oneshot being a game you can still love it and mourn it,it shows you that u never miss something until you really lose it , like the world when you first arrive its a chaos but in the end you dont want to lose it it is part of you know...;( oneshot truly is a piece of art and i will forever remember my happy moments and my sad ones with this game ❤️

This song in particular. I played Solstice yesterday and when Niko and I reached the top of the Tower and this song played... I just couldn't. I couldn't say goodbye. To this game. To Niko. To all the characters I'd met. I couldn't hold back my tears. The sun ended up on the cusp of the Tower, saving both a child and a foreign world to them.

...ahh gotta say, When this song switches to 'In Memory', after achieving the best thing you could ever get for what you've been trying to save all along, it feels like you've been connected off the world completely without any way to see the bright and peaceful world ever again, or the characters who would chant Niko and your names when the sun is returned.., even Niko's movements, as they walk through the portal without needing you to lead them anymore.. everything you can control has been set to a minimum.. and the only thing you can do is say goodbye.

My only complaint is that the The World Machine doesn’t believe we want to see it in the *…* option. I want to see the World Machine, I want to talk to the World Machine. I want to know how the world has progressed. I want to know if Silver and Kip have made up, if Alula has learned to read, if Plight has finally gotten some sleep. But most of all. I want to know if the World Machine is okay. I want to know if they’ve healed, if the squares are gone, how long it’s been since the sun was returned. I want to know, but I’ll never know. I love Niko, and I want to know more about them, but the World Machine gets overlooked in favor of Niko. And the World Machine has been through so much. I care for them. I fell in love with the game when it first came out, but I never had the chance to play it myself. Years have passed since then, and I finally picked it up when I saw it was on sale for only $5. I remembered very few things of the game.. but as soon as I opened it up I immediately felt what i had forgotten about so long ago. I'm glad i'm able to relive how the game feels again after going so long without it.. but now it's so heart wrenching to realize the fate of everything is in my hands after all of these years. It's got such an impact that I really can't describe, and it's making me feel emotions I didn't even know existed. This game almost feels like a memory that never even happened. It's so strange and I love it. But that just leads me into saying that I miss them too..

The 2 things I can really say about Solstice are A: It made me WAY more appreciative of the ending of Homestuck and B: I can't believe how well the whole game set up the ending. From the early hints at what could happen, to the fluff that made the good ending reasonable, they really couldn't have done much better and I really wish there was more to it, or better yet: another game that manages to recreate the experience. Speaking of which, experience feels about right when it comes to describing this game, as your third/second playthrough is no where near as great as the first. EDIT: Oh yeah one more thing, I' m super glad I used my actual name for my computer. It made the whole game so much more impactful.
