4:18 It’s actually incredibly difficult to adopt in Australia - the best you can usually hope for is long term foster care for a child/children, which can eventually lead to adoption but there’s no guarantee & it often doesn’t go that far.
@kiefcoffee4 ай бұрын
oh wow thats surprising, why is the process so strenuous ?
@tranatkikomi68733 ай бұрын
@@kiefcoffeePartly because of the idea of reunification since we have a *very* bad history when it comes to adoptions that involve pretty much stealing the children from Indigenous families and single mothers and then adopting them out. There are still people alive today who were affected by those.

Brandy is actually a celebrity cameo. She's played by Australian actress Rose Byrne, who is best known for Bridesmaids and the X-Men First Class films. So you know they wanted to hype up this episode!
@LauraM968294 ай бұрын
2:32 That shot of Bingo running away while Brandy reaches out, almost like a reversal of Baby Race with the shots of Bluey reaching out to Chili, the thing that she wanted more than anything. It’s a subtle way of showing why Brandy stayed away. She saw how Chili was able to have the family she’s always wanted, even after having had a miscarriage in the past, while Brandy feels like she will 😢

It works because the actual granny was roughly the same height. She thought she was tussling with one of her own.

I love these episodes- brandy's struggle with infertility and how that created an estrangement with her sister came across very believable while also in a sad way touching. GRANNY MOBILE- I love grouchy granny and anytime grannies show up in an episode I know it's going to be a great episode!

I love that Big Belt clearly either has children or is used to dealing with children when you see how he interacts with Bluey and Bingo. Their interactions are very cute.

I think it’s the latter, going off Eric’s point at 5:22.

i was going to mention the parallels between the scene with Brandy extending her arms towards Bingo running away and the final shot in the episode Baby Race between Bluey and Chili, but since that has already been pointed out then i'd like to mention the little continuity nod with the mailbox between Onesies and Tradies. it gets hit by Bingo in the former episode leaving it crooked, and then gets fixed by Sparky in the latter episode

The way Bandit got so self-conscious about his weight after the grouchy granny body shammed him is another proof of my theory that he has entred in a middle-life crisis. It makes so much sense, especially when you have episodes like "Sheepdog" where he made a haircut he used to have when he was young. And episodes still to come this season also show exactly that, him being self-conscious about his age... which I believe to be 40 (as of "Omelette)... especially if we consider Bandit is mostly based on Joe Brumm and the time the series first aired.

Having lived with someone who's gone through it, the implication that Chippy lost his Driver's license from a DUI is very hard to ignore. He drinks chocolate milk to dull his cravings. He has to get rides everywhere, which may not seem like much, but it's odd that Cherry is driving him to and from strangers' houses and is a real inconvenience to her. And the whole situation is incredibly frustrating in general, which is why they're in a fight.

@peewee1394 ай бұрын
how can you watch an episode about an infertile dog who wants to be a mom and be like “where’s the happy, child-free representation???” yes, it would be nice to see happy, child-free adults in the form of authoritative figures (teachers, mentors) or family (aunties and uncles), but this episode isn’t about that.
