Fun fact! The xBox 360 version of GTA 5 actually has way better car damage and the body would deform. The reason why they toned it down on the xBox One was because of the 1st Person view.

Early gta 5 (ps3/xbox360 era) was made with upgraded gta 4 rage engine, you can find similarities in gta 5 trailer. But the game evolved after ps4.

Yes. Vehicle deformation was much better in the Ps3/Xbox 360 version of Gta 5. (But still, there wasn't as much "soft-ish" deformation as in Gta 4.) In the Ps4/Xbox One version of Gta 5, vehicle deformation has been messed up for the first person view feature. Vehicle deformation needed to be improved for Ps5/Xbox Series S and X. But it didn't happen.

GTA IV feels like an experiment into the 3d universe with its new physics and graphics. Amazing gameplay for its time and the story was deep storyline and dark side of liberty city, differed from the rest of the franchise.GTA V has an amazing storyline and is a masterpiece as far as graphics and gameplay! Now we are in the 4K UHD OLED universe.. so let’s see what GTA VI will bring.

I don't like how cars explode twice with the RPG in gta5. You have the explosion of the rocket and then the explosion of the fuel tank, instead of a one big explosion like in Gta4. Also I don't understand why cars are so light in this game. A tiny explosion can make a car fly.

Also, a lot of people don’t understand that GTA 5 was originally on xBox 360 game. The 7th gen consoles couldn’t handle it due to the big map and high graphics. It is not actually a downgrade. GTA 4 had a smaller map and less graphics. So, it 100% makes sense why they toned it down and is understandable!

Actually not really. It was a trend to try to make realistic video games on the launch days of the 360 and ps3. But most fans complained that realism isnt what they wanted but just graphics with arcade like mechanics. Simpley why now a days including gta 5 were all about graphics and just easy to make mechanics. Dont believe me look at every game from 2005 - 2012 then look at the ones in 2013 - 2024 present time.

La verdad esperaba que gta 4 ganara completamente como dicen muchos pero la verdad es que en la mayoría son completamente iguales e incluso gta 5 gana en algunas. Y en las que gana gta 4 algunas es porque los coches en gta 5 tienen camara en primera persona y si se deforma demasiado atravesaría el techo, o es porque no existe gravedad alguna enp gta 4. The same argument you use of "Ah, but the cars in GTA V are lame" is the same when you ride a GTA IV motorcycle. Check out a showcase of a mod that takes away this horrible handling and makes it realistic, just like GTA V. This doesn't mean that one GTA is more realistic than the other in terms of physics, which doesn't exist to this day, but it seems that what you who like GTA IV say is not true! (The most obvious damage is the tearing of the side panels and bumpers, nothing else) You have to hit the wall many times to deform/bend. This is not realistic at all. Even; Panto, Fire Truck, Bus, Mule, Trashmaster and most super vehicles don't deform/bend. They are immune to deform/bend for some reason. In Gta 4, "all" vehicles are soft deformed/bend in a realistic way. There even metal crumple in the vehicle.

Actually, in Gta 5, vehicles are much more rigid. So body deformation/bend is less. And it's hard to get. (takes time) Mostly bumpers and side panels break off. In fact, the Fire truck, panto, Trashmaster, bus, mule and fire truck are completely immune to deformation/bend in Gta 5. In Gta 4, there is very noticeable realistic and smooth vehicle deformation/bend. You can clearly see the crumpling of the metal in the vehicle. So, if you crash the same type of vehicles at the same angle in both games, you will clearly see the difference.
