I'm glad you used the OneTigris Bungalow 2.0. I have one in coyote color and have been pleased with it in three season camping, including overland camping. I've not used it in snow. When it snows I either sleep in my Jeep SUV or in a tent cot. The ranger roll using the Helikon Tex Swagman Roll, the Helikon Tex Poncho is my preferred warm weather sleep system when stealth camping. For winter I have a Coleman zero degree bag with an alpaca wool liner. My pillow is the Thermarest foam pillow. After trying out half a dozen inflatable pillows I found the Thermarest and absolutely love it. Dan Becker says he takes two of them on his backpacking trips. I may even buy two for my bed at home as they never seem to lose their loft. Regular pillows get hard and flat after a few months of use and have to be replaced. Enjoyed your video, Dan.

Hi Alexander. Thanks for watching and commenting. I have a blue Kazoo sleeping bag for cold temps and like the ranger roll for warmer weather as well. I have heard others mention the Thermarest pillow and I actually have it in my amazon wish list. I will definitely be picking it up. Done with the blowup for tent camping. Thanks for all the good information.

I have found the Sarma Thermal blanket ( which can be zipped around the bedroll) great as a bivi bag / emergency tarp / thermal poncho in addition to my Swagman when used inside my Backwoods Bungalow 2.0 here in the UK. An extra tarp over the Backwoods tent is useful as a second skin & extra height above the tent canopy & allowing for zipping the flap down

Thanks for Commenting. The secondary tarp over tent is good advice. I have done this for very rainy outings. I tried to find the Sama Thermal Blanket you mentioned but have not found it. I am interested in giving it a try. Where did you get yours?

Hey Dan , enjoyed the excellent video! I remember a guy called Cliff Jacobsen, he always recommended to place the tarp or ground sheet inside the tent believe it or not. I used this method with great success in some real nasty weather.

Hey Billy, What are the benefits. I would love to hear them. I have always kept it under the tent to protect the bottom from getting small holes that would then let water in though floor. The tarp is just to protect the floor. Maybe the reflected warmth? What are your thoughts?

@@DansEverythingOutdoors hey Dan. Cliff I believe , meant for the tarp or whatever to be used inside during really heavy rain on a tent that could possibly have holes in the bottom. He also didn’t agree with a ground sheet under the tent as he believed it could trap water between the top of the ground sheet and bottom of the tent. I tried it with a polyethylene clear sheet during a deluge where the water level got a few inches high around the tent. Stayed bone dry inside. Thru the polyethylene sheet I could see water flowing.

@@winnguyen443 Good tips. I can see it when a tent already has leaks from the bottom. I always protect my tent floor so never had problems with any tent leaking from the floor. I would defiantly do this if I do end up leaking from the bottom. Thanks

Hi Dan's Everything Outdoors, I've just found your channel and subbed to you. The woods look excellent, where in the world are you guys? That's a lot of snow guys, good surviving skills. I really enjoyed watching this films guys, thanks. I like your 'hot water bottle' trick. Good luck with your channel. Have a great day and stay safe. James

Good camp, I got the bungalow, nice tent but wish it had a thicker floor , when it comes to camping I got to have comfort, that sleep system looked terrible you had...that was a lot of snow y’all got

So true. The Ranger Roll is a versatile system for temps in the low 50's not low 20's LOL. I knew that going in but figured the fleece jacket and thermals would help. The poncho and swagman poncho liner are also just too narrow to be considered a Good Sleep System. They are more of a versatile system to bring with you just in case you are over night or for summer use.

I just thought about your post last night again. Originally thought you were asking about the 10 x 10 Free Soldier tarp over the Hammock but then realized maybe you were asking about the tarp I used as a ground cloth or the one in the ranger roll. Those ones are 5 x 7. 60" x 82"
