After fixing my ocluink issue late last night, I shared benchmarks on Time Spy at the end of the “oculink fix” video that I just posted. More to come now that I’ve got it working. 😁

Bios is factory version. 4.1. The oculink cable works before turning on the console. I updated it w/ the latest AMD setting ver. 5.1. I recently updated the OneXConsole to ver. 7.10, and something isn't right. The CPU overhead is going 45-50% idling, after uninstalling it, it went back to 1~2%. As of right now the shared files were updated to this recent latest version, and it's unfortunate as I was looking for ver. 7.5 or below in particular as it did not come w/ the CompatLayerTC thats causing the high idling.
@roughrough235 ай бұрын
Updated: I was able to drop the idle temps from CompatLayerCT from OneXConsole, apparently it was set to high priority and I managed it to prioritize efficient load. I'm just glad we have good channels like yours so we can work out the kinks, guides and full walkthroughs ect.

Welcome to team X! I've paired it with the 7600XT via oculink and it runs well. Cyberpunk latest ver. Dog town with 2k, FSR2 on performance and all Max/high mix settings 50-80 FPS variable per area. The CPU temps swings around 75-82C average with one of the back intake blocked off via cover and warm ambient room temp. EGPU temps average 65. The USB-C and Finger print scanner area does get warm hot to the touch after long play sessions. Probably due to that 35W being pulled through.

Thanks! That’s great to hear. Did you have to update the bios, ec, and turn off quick boot in the bios to get the oculink working? I haven’t plugged in the oculink and eGPU yet but I want to try it factory first to see for myself if my unit works without changes.

How did you get it to work with Oculink? I turned off the X1 before connecting the Oculink cable to both the EGPU and the X1 and then turned them back on. Nothing happened!
@GamingRepairs5 ай бұрын
@@tomn8399 I’ll get back to you on this one. I setup the driver for the OneXGPU with the Thunderbolt 4 and had to pack up to leave for the long weekend. Didn’t have a chance to get to the oculink yet, but I’ll reply back when I do. 😊
@roughrough235 ай бұрын
@@tomn8399 Both devices off for about 2 minutes, connect the oculink cable and press power on EGPU. It;ll turn on the X1 automatically, if not manual it. You'll have to let the X1 sync w/ it for a couple minutes. Once those steps are met, check devices manager and locate the Display adapter. You'll have to download the proper driver for egpu. Nelly has a guide for this in recent videos. I just use the regular power AC charger to charge the X1 while its connected.

I’m pretty sure my oculink cable is bad so I need to wait for a different one to come in to test further. My bios and EC are current + an extra 65 patch. Fast boot and start are off. And nothing from oculink cool boot cycling. Next check is a new cable lol.

How do the controllers feel when attached? Do they feel cheap or light weight? does it feel pretty secure when they are attached? Can you give me your thoughts on the controllers and how they feel attached? thanks. I actually pre ordered this but the last week it was on IndieGoGo I canceled because intels chip wasn't getting any better. Now that a Amd version is coming defntely getting the 10inch this time around

I know the earlier shipment the controllers were loose but mine feel tight and good. I’ve stationary biked while playing games on it the past few days and it’s felt very secure, comfortable, and surprisingly lighter than I expected. The controller don’t feel quality in terms of texture (they went with a cheaper lighter material) so I added grip pads 👌🏻. The buttons presses and dpad feel both like a rubber conductive pad and clicky. Not the best controllers but I don’t mind them. I do love that the joystick has a metal ring for friction. Plastic ones grind a ring overtime and this one won’t.

Just got mine 2 days ago and it's a solid device, Intel Chip and all. The worse part are the controllers which are complete garbage. Not only are they terribly wobbly but the buttons are so mushy and overly sensitive that it was impossible to enjoy any games with them on. I tried some tape to fix the wobbling issue but that didn't fix the weird artifacts that appeared on screen whenever I hit the Pause button and then the controllers would drift. Too many issues that I didn't even want to bother exchanging for a replacement. Other than that, this thing works really well with the OneXGPU
@GamingRepairs5 ай бұрын
Sweet! 😁 Do you know if you got the alps or hall version controllers? I also saw a fix for the wobble from onex with small rubber washers. Here’s the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp-rk2yMnL12lZYsi=oBg96i6qiLkxPtDT

@@GamingRepairs not sure which version of the controllers that I have but I would assume alps version? I fixes the wobbling issue but it's the overall poor quality of the controllers that bothers me. I ordered a set of D9 telescoping controllers to see if they work any better.
@GamingRepairs5 ай бұрын
The quality is lacking on them for sure. They’ll be a black circle dot on each controller by the bottom of the rails if you have the hall and no circle if you have the alps. I hope they release a better quality option. The D-pad itself is wild lol.
@tomn83995 ай бұрын
@@GamingRepairs MIne has a black circle with the letter H on it so I'm guessing mine are hall then, but that wouldn't explain the joystick drift since hall controllers don't have drift right? Also, did you get Oculink with your OneXGPU? For some reason, the oculink port does nothing when my X1 and GPU are connected so I've been using thunderbolt
@GamingRepairs5 ай бұрын
@@tomn8399 It just might not be calibrated. I know when I install hall stick into joycons and switch lites, I always have to calibrate them otherwise they're wack lol. I didn't buy the oculink cable from Onex instead I picked one up on Amazon. Have you disabled fast boot in the bios and fast start startup in windows (Power option - system settings - if it's greyed out click on the "change settings that are currently available")? If that doesn't solve the issue, updating the bios and ec should fix it if the oculink isn't working. Mine came with the updated Bios and EC. You can verify yours by searching for "system information" under system summary is should read Bios 2.42 4/8/2024 and under embbeded controller version 0.65. Hi, I am thinking of purchasing OneXPlayer X1 with onexgpu.... Is it worth it?
@GamingRepairs4 ай бұрын
Hey! That depends on what you want to do with it. A laptop with a graphics card equal to the OneXGPU would cost you less. If price isn’t a factor and you’re looking for something to fill as a handheld, laptop, tablet and also have the option to boost graphics using the oculink port with the OneXGPU then it is a good option. The onexplayer x1 is Intel and amd is superior if you’re using it without the OneXGPU. The onexplayer x1 mini is amd and that will release on their indigogo campaign soon but probably won’t ship for 2-3 months. I think the OneXGPU is worth it to boost any handheld for the next couple years until the handhelds have GPUs that are superior. I use it with my legion go and the onexplayer x1. I like the versatility of it. I personally really like the onexplayer x1. It comes with some troubleshooting, navigating, and less than ideal customer support but I knew that and embraced it when I made the purchase.

@@GamingRepairs Well! want to use it as handheld, laptop, tablet. Plus hoping that onexgpu can play Ghost of Tsushima.
@GamingRepairs4 ай бұрын
@SuhailSaeed It sounds like it would be a good fit then lol. I’d say go for Intel now if you want the big immersive screen or wait for the mini to have a legion go sized screen but the AMD version. A downside to the mini is that the oculink port is on the bottom so using it as a screen while connected to the OneXGPU isn’t really an option unless it’s sitting on a tall enough stand. If you’re wanting to buy now, AliExpress has a sale with extra coupons for larger purchases that restock periodically and need to be “collected” to use. The onexplayer store also has a coupon I’m pretty sure on the main store page. If you want a link I can share it to the one I purchased. Is there a way to connect the AR glasses to the monitor?
@GamingRepairs5 ай бұрын
Yes, you can connect AR glasses into one of the 2 usb 4 ports and use a 180 angle 40gbs or 20gps usb c adapter to get the cable out of the way from the controller triggers. At first my xreal air 2 pro’s were black screen, but I held the brightness up for 2 beeps to swap to 120hz and check power was coming to the glasses. Power, yes, but still black but then I unplugged and plugged them back it and now they are working every time.

Do not buy any Onexplayer devices. Their actual devices are no where near what reviewers are showing. If you view their Discord channel, there are many complaints of battery not charging, unusable webcam and microphone, eGPU not working etc. My webcam quality is totally unusable for video conferencing and Onexplayer Support claimed this is normal. I even compared it to another 720p builit-in webcam and the difference is huge and nowhere near the unit Linus Tech Tips had.
@GamingRepairs4 ай бұрын
I’m on their discord and still decided to buy it. I enjoy solving problems and wanted the challenge. 😊 The webcam is bad especially if you install a matte screen protector like in did. I would never use the camera or microphone though so for me it’s just used for facial recognition sign in. There’s a lot of tweaking but at least the new units shipping out have the updated bios to fix eGPU connectivity. Updating the bios manually can be daunting for newcomers. It will be good to see what the competition does with creativity on the next gen devices.
