If you're curious why this was re-uploaded, in the previous video the placement of the Muse Dash video was off at 6:12, the zoom joke at 12:45 wasn't corrected so the rest of the video was 2x2 pixels wide, at 20:30 they cut it before Lyle screams similar to the Hulk, and the toilet joke at the end originally had Chris drowning a woman that was missing since 2003. There is a movement glitch where you are able to trick the game into giving spongebob the speed of his bubble missiles, which lets you speed around the map. There is also a glitch where you are able to walk out of bounds forever, if you call the taxi for a loading zone, while also out of bounds and being grabbed by Hans, the hand. Most of the glitches are very hard to accidentally find casually.

This is honestly my favorite game. And while I don't think the remake did the original the justice it deserved, it was still enjoyable playing through it again. I'm glad you guys are playing it.

Rehydrated really made me appreciate the original even more. I think the only thing I think the remake did better is the visuals and animations, (which they should be, 2 console generations later) and maybe some minor preferences. I still had fun playing through it again, because of the level design, controls, and game mechanics. Even if the controls and mechanics feel slightly different, as well.

@@zanpakutoman4225 the animations I agree are leagues better, but the whole thing was too bright and the goo from overhead looked like a windows blue screen of death. Not a huge fan of the new spongebob design either, but I get trying to get younger fans into the game The controls were definitely tighter, but that made things a little bit too easy compared to the original imo, especially on the sliding portions. They also added projectile markers for every enemy, making it even easier still. I tried to make the game harder by avoiding the golden underwear, but I still had no trouble on parts that I remember being a challenge, like Mr. Krabs dream and the final boss fight. Once again I get it, but at least have the option to play it like the original.

I don't understand the people who flock to the comments saying shit like "YOU'RE PLAYING IT WRONG, AND YOU'RE DUMB," but I don't have the nostalgia for this game, and I genuinely enjoy it. It's not a masterpiece or anything, but it's fun. It's also kinda a buggy mess, which I find fun, so I guess that probably contributed partially to my enjoyment of it.

Honestly, complaining about Shiny Objects and Tikis respawning is like complaining about coins and blocks respawning in Mario. Destroying Tikis gives the player something to do as they traverse the levels, respawning them just makes the levels less boring as you replay them. In some cases Tikis even act as obstacles or platforms for level progression. As for why people love this game and overhype it (and it is overhyped), coming from someone who 100 percented the game as a kid and still loves it to this day: it's genuinely fun, it's basically a simpler version of Banjo-Kazooie. The controls are tight and responsive. The game is filled with little references and bits from the show, compared to most other videogame adaptations, this one feels like it was made by genuine fans of the show. As someone who watched the fuck out of the show I appreciate major gameplay aspects, like Hans dragging Spongebob back when he goes out of bounds, and tiny stuff like the vending machine in Rock Bottom. Later parts of the game were very challenging and satisfying to beat (Squidward's Dream is a primary example). All that said, I can totally see why adults who weren't super into the show, playing the game for the first time 2020, would find the game to just okay. Great video though, made me laugh out loud multiple times.

Yea its a fun game for kids but if you didnt grow up with it its much easier to be unforgiving with its flaws and weak aspects. I do like the small references and nods to the show, tho.

The guy who voices Plankton auditioned for Spongebob with his same voice. The writers thought it was funny but didn't mach the character, so they kept him as Plankton, and he even ended up as a writer on the show. I think a few women also auditioned for Spongbobs voice
