To watch this narrative one has to be a realist...if not one, it would be too painful to watch the suffering of both parties experiencing the pain of love lost. I may add...an experience, if you live long enough, will be felt by at least 90% of humankind. Judging by the views...2.852. I'd say, I'm pretty much on the mark.

No need for that, it was an arranged marriage, he knew that romantic love is optional, but he got a beautiful, young wife who is also highly moral and faithful...she loves him in another way...respect, gratitude for giving her a safety of home, protecting her as a man should, caring for her...and she remained herself in spite the love she feels for Onegin.

@@jelena7440 Indeed. I know what it is like to be in both of their shoes, although in my case, I acted like Onegin and I married another man I did not love because I was afraid and ran away from a man I did love. I was a fool for hurting both men. I confessed to Frank, my husband, and to my surprise, he has forgiven me unconditionally and remains with me. I couldn't have been more blessed to have found him and I will stay only my husband's wife to my death.

@@EmilyGloeggler7984 You are blessed to have such a man as your husband. Sometimes the people we think we were so in love with turn out to be but a dim shadow of the one God graces us with.

Karma got to him for breaking that woman's heart.

He only wants her now because he can't have her. If she had stayed in the country and spinster he would have still rejected her.

There is no such thing as karma. He made his choice and he was entitled to reject who he wishes, just as anyone who is unmarried - even if mutually in love - can reject who they want. I do feel bad for all three of them.

@@EmilyGloeggler7984 Well, that was the result of him rejecting her, he made his bed now he has to lay in it. It's okay if you dont believe in karma, I do though, there is a reaction to every action.

@@vintagegirl7937 There is not always a reaction to every action, even if delayed. In this case, it was not karma. He made his choice, she made hers, and her husband made his.

He's the sort of man who will always want what he can't have and that's the attraction. Now she's beyond him and the interest will fill his "boredoom." Once an idiot, aways an idiot.
