The Flood is probably the most notorious enemy in Gaming History. The only two that can compare to The Flood are Necromorphs and The Resident Evil Viruses. But still, I doubt anything can compete with The Flood in terms of sheer numbers, intelligence, and devastation.

I'm fairly certain that the infestation from Warframe could go toe to toe with the flood since it's a tecno-organic parasite that functions kinda like the flood but in my opinion is much more terrifying cause it doesn't have any restrictions on what it can infect

The Beast from homeworld cataclysm is the only think scarier than the flood imo. Take the flood and turn them into a microscopic biomechanical virus hivemind that not only gains intelligence from the humans it subverts, but entire ship's databanks. It also can ride plasma surges that can jump to multiple ships, infecting each and spreading at astronomical rates. With the flood, at least you can wear a sealed suit and shoot infection forms, but with the beast, if it touches you, you're fucked.

Fun little fact: The flood combat forms can still turn people if their claws pierce the skin and draw blood. The transformation process that way is a lot slower and not immediately apparent, but all of those ODSTs who survived, but got clawed at some point, may still potentially turn once back at base...

@@AnonD38 if the infected have access to a space craft, even something like a pelican, that's all it would take to ram a unsc ship or station, and then disperse the infection. There's a reason modern ONI just nukes the place whenever Spartans or ODSTs encounter flood post-halo 3

@@Dandroid_1 Well they don't. They'd probably get picked up by a Condor dropship. They could be locked into the cargo area. They leave the AI core at the remote space station and then just jettison the ODSTs into a nearby sun.

Dealing with the AAR; Even Chief was terrified of the Flood, the first time he was truly scared, and for good reason. Also, I think the brutality was less then being in character with ONI and more out of instinct to shoot Liru and get away with it!

Yeah I remember in The Flood, Chief is getting frustrated and afraid when he's in the Flood facility (the 343 mission) and even relieved when he finds *living* marines at the end. Then when he gets Cortana back, she uses the suits shields to zap an infection form and he describes how unnatural and awful it felt when it managed to get under his suit. And yes for those who haven't read the books, the Chief very very nearly got infected during Halo 1.

The very last guy getting turned while getting out of the facility reminded me of the one time they evacuated a island cause of the flood, then an infection form got on one of the Pelicans and turned the pilot, causing it to crash.

Imagine this scenario but happening out of a blue as the UNSC is fighting Insurrectionists inside an outpost taken by them, one life only with A.I support. The players go in and take the Innies out in a certain location, they find their security detail death/vanished when they go back to the main structure. You bait the players into believing this is a normal OP against Humans and then you make the switch on top of an unfortunate group of player who get overwhelmed and infected...

All right a few points to make: 1. Funny enough 6pm est Sunday I'll be on the ground playing a horror op, so I expect to see you live on twitch lol 2. I can't make a horror op, then play it on the ground. Horror is all about those gut reactions to whatever the mission or game master creates, and if I create it, how am I supposed to react to it? Sure a different Zeus can make stuff but if I am the architect of the framework it still defeats the purpose because I still had a hand in the op 3. Ngl horror ops in general are very rare treats. I don't know anyone who does more than one a month tbh, though I've noticed a demand on KZbin here for them, it's something I'm not sure I'll be able to 100% fill simply because horror is a very hard genre to consistently pull off...
