What a beautiful oldie! What an evergreen Yoruba folk song! Thank you for this brilliant performance. I am nostalgic. I feel transported down memory lane to my childhood days in Ibadan when we children in the neighbourhood excitedly sang this song in our compounds and at school playground in our free time. What a period of innocence and bliss beyond compare! God bless you. Cheers!

Beautiful. Reason why I miss Lagos! Watching and catching up with Pelumi Nubi’s successful road trip from London To Lagos Unilag. And now invited to represent Nigerian Tourism. 👏🏾💐🙏🏿

I was in Main Auditorium (Now JF Ade Ajayi Auditorium) of Unilag when this live presentation was made many years ago. Although mine was between 2015-2017 then (can't recall the exact year), the song still lingers in my memory. What a beautiful memory!

It's Fela and the Koola Lobitos original composition. He was doing purely highlife and jazz then. He pivoted to Afrobeat in 1970

Dr. Dayo Oyedun is an exceptional talent. He's a composer, arranger and super pianists. A medical doctor by training and a super academic. Bravo my brother.

I need my families & friends at home to help me understand the update to this song, I want to explain it to my daughter because I told her, the song is one of my favorite childhood song.: Here is my understanding; Oni Dodo Oni Moimoi, when there is no sale in the market assuming (Lafiati is a market place). Oni Dodo Oni Moimoi "igbati ko ta" (no sale) is the cause for a fight in the market. Igbati ko ta o gbe "igba -food tray" ka le, e wa wo ija ni marketi o. Help me with the rest of the song, what is the cause for the fight with the dentistry, it is because the dentist is unable to pull out the tooth or not able to treat a tooth decay? And what caused the fight in the hospital? I think I know what causes the fight in the faculty, is because the student is unhappy with her grade. And what about Landlord and tenant, the landlord refuse the money and I'm assuming the tenant take out "Ada-Cutlass" to cut the landlord?

the landlord was asking for rent in an angry mode, hence, the tenant brought out cutlass. The dentist removes the tooth in a forceful manner, hence the patient brought out a knife. The student is doing her module in an angry mood, the lecturer awarded zero too. i hope i tried

Great job sofar, Modupe. I'm also interested in learning the lyrics especially the incident with the student and dentist. However, the Great late Sam Akpabot did the same song but the lyrics are different. Could someone help me with the Unilag version, joor!
