I completely understand ONI doing something like this. I can't really blame them, like all others would. I mean that since humanity was no longer preoccupied with not dying and getting bent over on a daily basis by the covenant it'd make sense from a moral and logical standpoint to eradicate the biggest threat to humanity thus far. Even if they don't pose much of a threat ( at the moment ) to being with. Potential allies be damned not even half a decade ago they were at the mercy of the covenant. Youre misrepresenting the information from the Kilo Five trilogy of books for what seems like a bias against ONI, a part of a fictional military. First, them arming the rebels was to even the odds not so Telcams(the leader of the forces opposing the Arbiter) forces could win and give them an excuse to wipe out the survivors but so that both sides would waste time, numbers, and armaments to give the UNSC even more time and space to cement their new lead in the war, often saying its not about the enemys intentions but about their capability. The Covenant, with the Elites as their main warrior class(the species the UNSC was naturally most worried about) just fell apart after decades of trying to wipe out(you know, commit genocide) humanity from the galaxy for typical bullshit religious reasons, many or most of humanity hated the Covenant, the elites most of all, and some thought genocide is what they deserved in return for the attempted genocide against them, but obviously that would be cruel so the ONI did the next best thing without genocide, secretly fueled the fire to keep them fighting amongst themselves while the peace treaty was in talks and after it was made official so that humanity wouldnt be at the mercy of the Covenant or any remnant of it ever again, a perfectly reasonable thing considering everything thats happened, oni is said(by Admiral Hood himself) to do the necessary dirty work and get the dark stains so that the navy can stay clean and morally defensible. Second, the grain of Irukan that was engineered to be toxic to the Elites was always meant to be a backup biological weapon in case it was ever needed, i dont recall them ever saying it was intended to be implemented, although this is ONI, i wouldnt put it past them to have considered it. Keep in mind that despite humanity coming out on top after the fall of the Covenant, this was still an uncertain time because of all the Forerunner tech out there to be found, if the the remnants of the Covenant or Telcams forces stumbled onto the right Forerunner tech, they could easily become a big threat to anyone, including humanity, so ONI was preparing for anything they could, not unreasonable despite their reputation and history.

I'll add a correction here, albeit a minor one. The irukan grain wasn't engineered to be toxic, just indigestible. It was also engineered to take over, and eliminate all other strains of irukan on the planet. This is why it was put on the back burner. ONI wasn't sure that it wouldn't strangle out human crops when they re-colonized Sanghelios after wiping out the Elites.

Something I was surprised about, that neither of species ever really realized by neither I mean all of the alien species aside from humanity. All of the covenant always looked down on humanity. We were vermin, however the covenant being a conglomerate of species whom from the beginning when they encountered a species that species never stood a chance and was made part of the covenant. Humanity all on its lonesome was able to hold out, and by this I mean Face extinction, for a good long time, despite being out numbered and completely out of our depth technologically we were able to hold our own. We won the war with luck and good fortune but I’m surprise that none of the more warrior types ever realize or thought that humanity is actually pretty bad ass They were able to standalone against them might of the entire covenant.

Imagine how cool it would be if we got a Halo game set in the war where you play a brute - or basically the brute equivalent to the Master Chief - part of an invasion fleet attacking a human world, and in the campaign, your main priority is ONI. Imagine driving new brute vehicles and going up against hornets and scorpion tanks. You could have a brute tank that uses the same technology as a gravity hammer; that could magnetically pull enemies towards you so that you could just smash them; and the secondary weapon could be some sort of anti-personnel lightning-gun. Or the brute equivalent of a banshee, which has some sort of upscaled anti-vehicle needle-rifle as its primary weapon, and a weapon that fires plasma pistol rounds as a secondary anti-personnel weapon, or could be overcharged to disable enemy vehicles and shields. Imagine fighting ONI-affiliated Spartans, and over the course of the game, the more you learn about ONI - the more justified the war against humanity feels to you, as the player. Imagine fighting Spartans You see a side to humanity that actually makes you root for the Covenant in this game. I think that could be a very interesting concept.

In halo infinite I really want the campaign to be long, like about 20 hours so that they have time to fix the mistakes made by halo 5 and at the same time have an engaging story which isn’t only there to transition the series from guardians. I also want less forerunners, and for the banished to take the place of the covenant as antagonists and have the covenant as your allies.

It finally feels like 343 has moved out of Bungie’s shadow and taken their own unique approach, whilst staying true to the original trilogy. It still doesn’t compare to the Bungie campaigns imo (not that I expected it would), but as it stands, it’s pretty much everything I could’ve wanted!

You're right about one thing, ONI doesn't see it as good aliens vs. bad aliens, they see it as humans vs. bad aliens. If you're not human, you can't be allowed to live. I can admire ONIs dedication to protecting humanity, as well as their skill and intelligence when doing so, but in my opinion, they are really taking things way too far by trying to exterminate our only allies in a cold, uncaring universe.

The only thing I’m really questioning is that they put tracking chips in their equipment. Because while almost all elites were warriors, they MUST have been sure that they had techs for their weapons to maintain them right? How would the technicians on either side never find those chips? That just sounds like a huge risk on ONIs part if it’s something they really wanted to keep under wraps.

This only ends one way. Arbiter goes full aggro on Chief because of humanities constant backstabbing. Arbiter and Chief fistfight. Chief strangles Arbiter. Last second Arbiter stabs Chief in the side with his wrist blade, but Chief still succeeds in strangling him to death. Chief rolls over, bleeding profusely. Blue Team rushes in and is like "bro we got you" Chief take his helmet off and says "nah" Then he dies, and we finally get to see his face. Perfect ending.

After or before the likely defeat of cortana, the swords of sanghelios will find out about this plot, there will be a war between them and the UNSC, and in the final mission involving the swords of sanghelios, Master Chief and the Arbiter will have an emotional fight to the death, where Chief will likely have to kill the Arbiter, or they both die. No idea how this came to my head, but that’s one of my theories.

I'd imagine that if the Arbiter found out he'd be pissed as all hell. However, I don't think he'll cut ties with the UNSC mainly because it wasn't the UNSC's plan to do the deed and none of the head honchos of the UNSC had no idea. Arbiter is rational like that.
