Iori has been such a character. This game gave me Way of the Samurai (Samurai-Doh) vibes. The 'anime' jolliness clashes with the reality of the true nature is something that rarely enters discussions. Yet the characters in this game show that underbelly. I want to believe this is the case with the later Fate series. This game is a gem that should be worth a time. Gameplay is simple but the story and plotlines are the highlights.

@@zerikane I think there was A LOT of story/world building possibilities left on the table though 9/10 game I would say easy to pick up and finish My only real complaint is that the map battles are not used at all in any of the DLC

Just finished the DLCs this morning. Very surprised this video was up later in the afternoon. Unfortunate it doesn't include the third DLC story though.

3rd DLC was completely irrelevant to the plot and characters so it was left on the editing room floor

@@zivennesheim5183 I had it recorded but after finishing we talked and decided it didn't add much to the overall story focusing on Iori It's a good story that adds to Yui but it was a little too late in its release I think if it had been dlc 1 swapped with the Ibuki it would have worked better in that release window

Just starting, and it's not uncommon for me to just listen to a recap initially. But when I glanced up, I was very surprised to see that this was not a light novel and that it looked more like a hack and slash of sorts. Edit: I now see the Koei Tecmo in the credits (and opening description) which explains why the game style reminded me of Dynasty Warriors.

The only games that are actually solely visual novels are Stay night and it's direct sequel hollow ataraxia The series has RPGs, actual dynasty warriors likes and fighting games as well

​@@Fronswathinteresting, I didn't realize that. The only other game I can think of that I had seen previously was the fight game that they had on PSP. Although I'm not sure how in depth the story elements were at that title.

Circe is pronounced "Seer-Suh" not "Kirky", there's no Shatner involved at all. It is also commonly pronounced as "Seer-See". Otherwise, always look forward to your Recapitations - sometimes I wish they were longer because you do some damn fine work Oni. Edit: Seems that pronunciation is in English only, and it does indeed use the harsh K sound in the original Greek - I stand corrected. Should not have doubted your research.

I truly appreciate this video! I picked up this game upon release and absolutely hated the gameplay. I hated it so much that I couldn't continue it. But I love fate and wanted to know how it ended. Thanks bro!

@@Lovellyoungwolf sorry to hear that Its definitely not the greatest game every put to data but it's never great when you buy a game and bounce off it that hard If you want a laugh I actually deadended myself in the tutorial the first time I went through and had to resteam/record about an hour of it which gave me a really good laugh cause it was totally my fault

@Fronswath Thanks, I appreciate the sympathy. I downloaded it so I couldn't take the game back. Plus I got the deluxe version so it was like $100 and something. I really tried to like it because I love and have consumed everything Fate since day one all those years ago. But I just couldn't get through it and I really tried to force myself. I understand everything can't be final fantasy or other action rpgs but man this thing was bad. I just finished trails through daybreak; not the greatest when it comes to graphics but the gameplay was amazing! I feel like this game could've been better. ( plus I've never like Muso or dynasty warriors games) Yes that did just give me a chuckle😂
