Actually with this explaination I finally understod the plot. The whole adventure Sora was asleep in a twofolded dream. and Riku was inside his dream. After the fight with Ursula Sora was grabbed by the Org. and put to sleep for a second time (since he was already asleep in order to enter the sleeping worlds). This explains also the mysterious apparence of Young Riku (Also part of Soras dream)

It's not bullshit, it's just a series of rules to make the time travelling actually work in-universe. These rules are: 1) you must discard your body; 2) you can only travel into the past; 3) you cannot change events that are destined to happen; 4) once you return to your own time period, you and anyone you took with you lose all the memories of your journies; 5) you must have a version of yourself in the time period you wish to go to.

The reason why this game is so confusing is simply because of time travel. They start off simply by telling you that you're going to be traversing through sleeping worlds (basically astral projection). What they don't tell you is that the worlds aren't just dreaming but that you're more or less able to time travel because of your astral form (which is why Riku and Sora look younger and your being able to see past events). The reason Xehanort can do it is simply because when he was a heartless posing as ansem in the first game he didn't have a physical body to bound him to time and space. So he could astral project to anywhere he existed in time and speak with his incarnations. The confusing part about all this is if he was able to contact himself in the past and future/present and pretty much get everyone up to speed... Why the hell can't he see past the present? Unless of course he's dead and thus can't contact a future self simply because it doesn't exist. Still a cool power when you think about it. Imagine if your future self told your past self all the knowledge you'd ever know. Would that mean you could grow beyond that knowledge or be trapped with the current?

Nope, it's just after Re:Coded, since the secret cutscene in that game talks about what will come in KH3D. 7:47 That's Riku Replica. Since he comes from Riku's dark side and he doesn't seem to be a recollection from the past of this world. 11:24 Holey Moley then comes in. 12:10 Nightmare who was the one that was in Traverse Town. 14:47 No, he doesn't, those are just clones of hooded Young Xehanort. 16:56 That was actually Xion who put her hood up and Sora caught her up, only to figure out she became Roxas. Besides, why does he say "Wait up !" ? 18:00 The wiki actually says that was Riku who tried to make Sora go back to reality, but I'm not convinced of that. 18:21 You mean the body will try to retrieve a heart at every opportunity ? 20:19 That's Saïx, Lea just mistook him. Because Saïx has that X mark, the spiky ears, and the yellow eyes, unlike Isa.

So surprise, it seems that anyone can wield a key blade, maybe. It seems that through the power of light manifesting in someones heart can call forth a key blade. This is evident with the fact that Axel and Kira can know wield key blades. It is probably a form of light magic or something that comes from the heart and needs to be awakened. It is also true the opposite way that through dark magic it is possible to have a key blade. Otherwise how would there be a huge key blade war with so many people if only a few could have key blades. It stands to reason that either a whole generation of people that had the power to have key blades through either light or dark magic might have killed each other off during the key blade war. And so all the people who can know wield key blades are in some way descendants of a past key blade wielder. Also, it could be possible that it just takes training of some sorts that has been forgotten because of the war that anyone can have a key blade through the manifestation of light or dark magic with their heart.

DDD is easy enough to understand what it meant for the plot as a whole but the plot within DDD like sleeping words time travel and stuff like that had me scratching my head but now that I got an explanation I have an even better grasp on gritty details, thanks for the video even after all these years later :)

I strongly disagree - I'd say they're equally important. If you played 2 right after 1 without playing CoM you would be just as lost as playing 3 after 2 without this one. CoM picks up RIGHT where 1 left off and barring Roxas's prologue (which basically nothing could prepare anyone for lol) 2 picks up RIGHT where CoM left off.

Axel, Saix, and all of Organization 13 were all killed by the end of Kingdom Hearts 2, and the original people they were based on came back during this game (at least, the people from Radiant Garden have). So, Axel and Saix went back to being Lea and Isa, who you see now.

Before KH1, Xehanort shed his body and became a heart (brown cloak). This allowed him to jump to any version/body of his at any time (time travel). The dream version of traverse town is a real place, it was just a sleeping world to be unlocked. As stated earlier, there are as many versions of Traverse Town as there are perspectives of it. Henrik Oestlund Yes, Axel did get defeated. It's explain in Dream drop distance that once the heartless and the nobody of the person gets defeat/kill, they reform back into one. In birth by sleep, it explains that ventus heart was "broken" and the new born Sora help heal by joining together. And this process happen twice in the game, once in the beginning and the ending of the story. This makes Roxas look like ventus and Vanita look like Sora. Hope this helps.

The games are very confusing but I'm starting to piece them together. But I have a few questions if you don't mind trying to answer? 1. Were the new Organization XIII in KH3Ds just vessels with implanted hearts or were they all Xehanorts from the past that met up in the future? Because it seems that Xemnas, Ansem, and Young Xehanort all time traveled to the future. Or were they just a mix of past Xehanorts and vessel Xehanorts? 2. If all of the Xehanorts were vessels, why didn't he just make 13 copies of his most powerful self instead of making one from a separate timeline? What I mean is why not just make 13 old Xehanort clones instead of having a Young Xehanort, Xemnas, and Ansem, etc. 3. Why did Young Xehanort and the rest go back to their time and forget the events that occurred in 3Ds? 4. If the only true way to unlock Kingdom Hearts is for 13 Warriors of Darkness to clash with 7 Warriors of Light, what was the point of the Organization XIII in KH2 trying to create an Artificial Kingdom Hearts by having Sora defeat countless heartless? 5. Also in KH2, was the final boss fight really within Kingdom Hearts and did Xemnas gain power? I thought Kingdom Hearts granted virtual omnipotence and control over the Hearts, so why did Xemnas lose? I'm assuming it's because it was the artificial Kingdom Hearts.

ArchlordZer0 Some of these don't have clear answers yet in the game, so I'll clarify what I can. 1. Its a mix of Xehanorts and vessel Xehanorts. 2. No clear answer. Time travel reasons, I suppose 3. See above. 4. Same reason why they tore Vanitas from Ventus and tried to smash them together again... they are just trying to take a shortcut instead of doing it the proper way. Xehanort acknowledges this when he mentions 'being hasty'. 5. The world beyond that particular doorway was certainly not Kingdom Hearts, nor was the fractured, giant collection of hearts he amassed. It made him stronger, sure, but it was only artificial.

i know this was posted super long ago, but the answer to 3 is that it was a stipulation of the way time travel works in KH. i personally guess that the rules exist so that time travel wasn't too powerful of a plot device, because if xehanort could just hop through time free of restriction, he'd basically be able to control much more of the plot than he already does. 1:you can only travel to a place and time if you were already there before in the past. so that straight up excludes going back beyond his life span and any locations he doesn't know about and hasn't been too. 2:you can only go forward in time from the time you arrive in. meaning that he'd have to know how far back he had to go to influence an event and on that note 3:you can't change fated events. so that limits the effectiveness of any changes he can make at all as he basically isn't allowed to change particularly important events and thus the course of certain fates. 4:when you return to your own time you lose the memories you gain while time traveling, but has we all know: that doesn't mean a damn thing in KH as the heart will always remember and be etched with the experience that the mind forgets (even though memory doesn't work that way irl) and will thus cause people to still follow what path set them to time travel in the first place. which basically means that even if you gain new power during you time travel you forget it when you're done but still have experience/inkling memorized in your heart....which i guess it may be possible to regain those powers if they could reclaim the memory in their hearts, but KH is pretty light on how that works and how it *would* work in this case. 5:i'm guessing they got forced back into there own times because they had some sort of time limit to do what they were trying to do and i presumed that had they actually succeeded they may have rendered that particular stipulation inert, but that's just speculation on my part. otherwise i'd chock it up to plot convenience as i have doubts that mickey, riku, lea, donald, and goofy would logically be able to fend 12 incarnations of xehanort...but KH doesn't really operate on conventional logic so maybe they would have won anyway coz goodguys>badguys 90% of the time.

Well, going to each sleeping world wasn't part of the time travel. Anyone can jump to a sleeping world really, as they are just worlds still lingering in darkness until they wake up. Xehanort had different incarnations of himself in each one just to make sure Sora stayed on track for their trap. The time travel part is derived from that, as proven with Mickey the Musketeer and early Jiminy Cricket, as the dream versions of them and their worlds are from the past, yet present now, so its like time travel. What Xehanort did beyond that was take advantage of how one can Time Travel in this universe, which is, you can apparently only go back or forward to a time and place where you personally existed. That's why he pulled multiple versions of himself across time, and also used their knowledge from their time and interactions with Sora (like possessed Riku, or Brown-Robed Heart-only Xehanort) to know and guide Sora's path up until this point. Point being, using time travel and his many clashes with Sora, Xehanort has been guiding the two key blade wielders, Riku and Sora (though at first he wanted Roxas, but settled for Sora), and preparing them as vessels for himself ever since they were kids on the Destiny Islands, and Riku was chosen to be a Keyblade wielder by Terra. So, every game and adventure so far has been subtletly guided by Xehanort to this point.

Well we kind of know some of the players for the light since we got: 1. Mickey 2. Sora 3. Riku 4. Kiari 5. Lea Now the last two spots are unknown but we can pretty much guarantee: 6. Ventus Yet number 7 may be a twist. Could be Aqua or Terra but either one of them may be on the side of darkness for some reason. More likely to be Terra mainly because Terra lost his body. Could also be Aqua because she was lost in the realm of darkness and we already know Xemnas was there at one point. Yet so was Ansem the wise. I'm kind of thinking that Terra might be a huge focus near the end of the story. He may even be the key to bringing the 13 darkness down.

+Onizuma13 Mickey, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Lea, Ventus and Aqua are (most likely) the Seven Lights because the Re:Coded's secret ending tells us Yen Sid and Mickey already know of Ven and Aqua's locations, and part of Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the journey to find them both and that i'm certain of. In KH3's trailer we see the Master's Defender on Destiny Islands, which means she got out of the Realm of Darkness. We find Aqua, Aqua knows where Ven is, then, Keyblade Wars ensues, plot twist, the end :). On a different note, even if the whole game is going to be epic af and i'm going to play the shit out of it, i just want to see Roxas (even if unlikely). #kh3hype

I said why I didn't include Terra. I said its because he lost his body so he might be on the side of darkness before they free him. Its either him or Aqua but its hard to see Aqua on the side of darkness. Although the organization did seem to be sure that Sora will work for them at one point or another so it could be Sora too. Its just hard to see the main character ending up being a boss to take down at the end of the game... Although I guess its possible. Maybe in the end we take on the role of Kairi and have to beat Sora... What a twist.

Black Savior it was more of an informational prelude to kh3 than anything. Take into consideration that it wasnt a numerical title. Really explained alot. Sora is connected to all of this whether he likes it or not, which makes him the literal key to saving everyone from sorrow and pain. He is a beam of light, and says that his friends are his power. This is likely the reason why the keyblade chose him. It also explains why everything that happened did happen, and who's been pulling the strings from birth by sleep all the way to dream drop distance (meaning xehanort was behind kingdom hearts 1 and 2, the one who premeditated everything) And also explains how a new war is coming, sora is a target, and shits getting real. Also if you kept up with kingdom hearts x and the x animated movie you begin to wonder about the master of masters, his plan, why xehanort has his keyblade, who and what is luxus role, what in the shitdiggles is the x box and what is in that bad boi. I have a theory that the voice who tells sora not to be afraid in the beginning of his journey (very start of kh 1) is the master of masters seeing as he knows of past present and future prophecy and what not. I dont know man but i played this shit as a kid and im 21 now the plot is so confusing but ive been waiting too damn long for the conclusion that im all aboard the hype train and am ready for kh 3 muddafucka

... Ugh, I'm going to have to describe something silly. Did you notice all the Organization Nobodies have an "X" in their name? Xigbar/Braig, Axel/Lea, Saix/Isa, etc. The X is some way for Xehanort to keep tabs on his underlings. It's silly, but one of the things I learned to just roll with because I love the series. By the way, in case you never noticed it, Roxas=Sora with an "X".
