It would be nice if they rebooted this series and put more traditional Japanese folklore inspired looking enemies, like how the God of War series has mythical creatures inspired by Greek mythology. It would make it feel more authentic. I mean what are these fish monsters and green slime slugs? They just don't fit the theme.

it already exists .its called ni-oh and ni-oh 2. FYI there was a rumor out of capcom the next installment is ONIMUSHA NEW YORK . It was in a list of titles that leaked on a list of games in development to be released before 2025.
