Absolutely! Part 2 and 3 are also very good games! Onimusha 2-Samurai's Destiny is my favourite Onimusha game. The drunken monk and Magoichi with his guns. Or Gogandantess, the greatest swordsman of all the demons! The trailer for Onimusha 2 was amazing and i still like to watch it on KZbin! :)

Stark yup. I know some people don’t even acknowledge the existence of the game, and some people compare it to super smash. But it’s actually very different from Super smash. The gameplay mechanics is unique. It resembles the gameplay of Onimusha 1, 2, and 3 but in 2D stages. I feel that the game is made for Onimusha fans only. It’s a great addition nonetheless imo 👍

Wow! I love the Onimusha franchise! Especially Onimusha 2-Samurai's Destiny...! Jubei Yagyu, Magoichi, Gogandantess, Guildenstern, etc.! And also the gameplay is great! I had a lot of fun back then with exchanging gifts with my companions. And the soundtrack was incredible! But also part 3 with that amazing opening scene in Paris was pretty cool! Imagine a remake in the style of Resident Evil 2! With new areas and new graphics and maybe even with a larger story...!!! I would be so hyped for a game like that.

@King Greed Well, why would a middle schooler enjoy an Onimusha game? It's vastly different than what they're used to. Fixed camera, cheesy dialogue/voice acting, terrible lip syncing, etc. It's like if you played Pong, being a millennial. It would suck. The game is not underrated at all. It was a popular franchise at the time.

I grew up with onimusha warlords I love the whole series especially warlords. The dpad and stick controls are laggy but it's all about the story. Warlords has it going for the story gameplay weapons leveling puzzles and boss fights. Capcom please I urge you to make the others this remaster has been a major improvement to the original being over 10+ years old. And for those that think the tank movement is garbage you obviously haven't had the experience to use the dpad to it's full potential. Yes the stick might be easier but the dpad is still rocking with this game after so long. Capcom thank you for remastering this game and hope the rest of the onimusha series comes back and we all can relive samanoske's and every other character journey in ONIMUSHA.

I do love me some Onimusha. Played them growing up on Playstation. You hit some of the key components that make playing Onimusha a unique experience. It has a very charming appeal to it. It is dark, tells a compelling and interesting story. Lots of cool effects and potential with the game. It was very challenging from what I remember growing up, that was a huge reason why it was fun. It has a somewhat serious atmosphere, the setting and plot go well together. I've not played a game that feels quite like Onimusha

Honestly the game itself deserves an entire remake. What keeps the series special is honestly the fun characters. Id say there is a lot to do in the remake if they felt like doing it. 1-Expand on Kaede, do a better job explaining who she is, why she cares for the MC 2-Explain the Ogres, explain if they were so all powerful why did they lose in the first place 3- Give each sword abit of lore, id say you could give each one there own boss fight with a ogre spirit protecting it to test your worthiness. 4-Modernize the controls a tad bit 5- More Nobunaga, he barely even feels like a threat, we barely even see him. these four changes I feel would greatly enchance the game.

I loved the original version of Onimusha back in the ps2 days along with the rest of the series so its really comforting to know that capcom listened and decided to come back to the series, even if we just got remasters, at least its a start and maybe we will get the rest of the games remastered and later down the line a sequel to were the last game left off.

You really see how much influence FromSoftware took from this game to create the original Demons/Dark Souls. Legendary game.

Can't understand this complain about pre-rendered graphics since the game is a remaster and not a remake, also, pre-rendered graphics has it's purpose, one day it will come back in style, the sandbox, real time rendering and free camera has been a standard, but pre-rendered graphics has it's benefits, fixed camera and absolutely beautiful backgrounds, it's like an artwork being used exactly how it was imagined, it's just a Technic for gaming design, i believe the game must be reviewed for what it is and if it works, not because the game isn't following a standard design in preconception for the year it is reviewed, that could be said about plot design and linear gameplay, today everything must be a sandbox or have multiple and boring tasks, that could be better without it, it's not the standard that should define quality, but again, if it works and most importantly, if it delivers fun, and that's has been a definition for cult classic, almost all of them has been running away from preconceptions. Reviewers these days has been a cancer in videogame industry, his critics impact sales, the sales impact what games cam get a sequel, and all industry has been following an easy formula that fits the reviewers expectations, so the games ended up being the variations of the same structure without too much margin for innovation, the only company off these rules is nintendo, maybe not even that, since splatoon received poor reviews and has to fight adversity to turns to be a strong title, and than the games started to receive update from reviews

No, he was almost a little bit too fair. While precomputed backgrounds are what they are and were an era-appropriate design decision, and the original data used to create them likely wasn't retained and the renderers would be super difficult to get running again, for the $20 they are charging, they should have used the research techniques such as ESRGAN and SFTGAN to do an AI upscale of the original renders that we got and then used that as a starting point to fix them up by hand. Via an outsourcing agency, hand retouching really isn't that expensive.

@@SianaGearz yeah, its make bit of sense, but remasters ended up being just upscale games set to run on modern consoles, using IA software to increase detail and resolution it would look better but could change the original art in the process, but since it's a new technology and the debate on what it needs to be a remaster and not ended up changing the original assets. Remaster today ended up being a museum of something old, changing it is a delicate process as changing a piece of art. But every remaster must gets points taken of from being a remaster, like, upscaling things as it original was ? Remaster until is today is exactly this, and is a bit strange take this as a bad thing when it is exactly what the people who buy it expect

@@maiksonstrife Downscaled GAN images for a validated GAN track the downscaled source image with no visual difference and only the smallest of measurable difference. The training of the GANs in question is performed from high-resolution synthetic images and photographs and their downscaled copies, so basically the underlying assumption is that the detail has always been there, but has been lost as a side effect of low-frequency sampling, be it downscaling a high-resolution photograph, a photograph made by a low-resolution scanner or camera sensor, or a rendering performed at low resolution. So the added detail is pretty much exclusively above the frequency threshold of the input image. Granted sometimes the GANs produce swirls and other low-magnitude details that don't make any logical sense, so an artist should go over the pictures and delete the generated detail where necessary, maybe rubberstamp new detail. But on the whole GAN errors are usually barely noticeable as they are. Since the source images presented in this remaster are actually higher resolution than in the original game release and were downscaled to package on PS2 and further mangled by PS2's fairly low-quality output, i don't think AI-assisted upscale would distort the original creative vision in any way. Certainly GANs are cutting edge research, and while the technique was first described decades ago, it has only become a hot research topic with spectacular results in the last 3 years, the idea lay dormant until it was rediscovered in 2014 when commodity hardware made it practical. The lead engineers on the remaster are likely not aware of the research, or the executives may not trust them if they do. But i believe firmly that it must and will be inevitably used in near future.

i was waiting for this, but this is just a basic port with minor gameplay changes to the PS2 release, they didn't even ported the xbox version which was packed with more challenges and additional stuff to make the game longer... i will never get that... but yeah for the price it's okay and maybe it will encourage capcom to release 2,3 and blade warriors and maybe a proper Onimusha 4.
