Millennials have waited SO long. Onimusha is my absolute favorite series of all time, followed by Ninja Gaiden. If I had to speculate, I believe Capcom saw the success of the Nioh games and decided to pull the trigger on development.

@@flexin85 You know what? I came to the comments to make the same critique. As a lifelong martial artist and having spent decades studying world history, Asia specific, this type of mistake triggers me. That said, not everyone is as big into this stuff as I am and the fact that you owned it is super refreshing. The rest of your video is fantastic and your takes are great. I would LOVE to see a full HD collection for the original Onimusha games. We got the first game. The reason they can't just do the same with 2 and 3 is that there are famous actors who contributed to those games. The rights become more difficult. This is why Capcom struggled to re release the Megaman Legends games as well. The voice actor group they sourced for the original had gone under so obtaining individual rights to the source was hard. Still would LOVE to play and HD Onimusha 2 and 3.

@@sanoichiro Thank you for watching the video and I do appreciate the kind comment, even though I made that total blunder of an error. As for the HD collection I can understand that it may be more difficult for Capcom to gain the rights of the games especially since they used famous actors like Jean Reno. I wonder how the movie business handles this, afterall films get rereleased all the time. I would imagine a movie going from VHS to DVD to BluRay would be the same as a game getting a rerelease from older hardware to modern platforms? BTW with Capcom bringing back a lot of their older franchises I would love to see Megaman Legends return

Classic games like THIS of those genres NEED a REMAKE!!from the bottom - UP!! I can't believe they're finally doin somethin about Onimusha when there's been so many titles like it and has been a success. Yeah, they had an HD edition and wasn't a success BCAUSE they haven't done anything AFTER Oni: DoD which was originally released 2006, it was basically dead! Wish there were was a dedicated team/modders that would work on these classic titles to keep em fresh for the new generations instead of 2yr old games bein remade/remastered

Yeah it would be cool to see this franchise get more mod support like we see the Resident Evil series. At least we are FINALLY getting another entry in the franchise, hopefully Capcom release a Onimusha Collection next year to help with the wait!

100% buying this. Onimusha is a favorite of mine. I played it as a child a lot. I didn't get the HD remaster because I figured it'd be hard to play and it didn't offer much in the way of new things. Thus however... this I want!

onimusha could be the onimusha back then, capcom knew how to make it, Dawn of Dreams is not a Failure but Sony just transition to ps3 back then, its a gem few just appreciate or might knew the game back then. Theres no way youll miss Jean Reno back then

I would love a remaster collection of all the ps2 games on Steam. The reason I didn't buy the HD remaster of Warlords was partially because the others games weren't available and stuck on old hardware anyway, so might as well just play all the games there. And the other reason was that they completely changed the soundtrack because of some controvesy around the composer turning out to be fake or something. Instead of just crediting the real composer they didn't include the original soundtrack at all and replaced it with an inferior one. If they remaster all the games and at least keep the original soundtrack for Onimusha 1 & 2 as an option I would buy all the games all over again 20+ years later!

Same I would love to see the trilogy brought to modern platforms! I really wish more developers would be willing to do this, it was awesome to see the RE Trilogy on GOG or the Tomb Raider trilogy brought back. Hopefully Capcom sees the success these retro titles can have and decides to bring back more of their backlog.

As long as the combat is fun and not repeating this can work. Even with Black Myth Wukong which was a great game, I felt the combat was basic. So if they can nail the fun aspect they will be fine.

I hope they nail the combat, I really enjoyed hte orginal titles. It was a great blend of hack n slash gameplay with the puzzles and atmosphere of a survival horror title ESP in the first game.

Onimusha is a great game, I really like the third and first versions, the second and fourth too, which are kind of sentai tokusatsu, but this latest version of the game lacked a character in the style of Jacks from the third version with a whip as a weapon and also an okuni, a spear warrior who is in the GBA's Onimusha Tactics game that I appreciate on the same level as versions 3 and 1 of Onimusha and which also lacked a character like Jacks from Onimusha 3, the clothes and weapon are cool but not necessarily with the same physical type, it could be from the designer like Rygar Aritana 2, Richter Juste from Castlevania, Renji Hisagi from Bleach, Kurama from Yuyu, a Bosch Necalli from Street Fighter, who knows, a character in these descriptions that appear together in a playable team in another version, a continuation of the game or a remake with additions, Onimusha in the hackslash style, traditional sentai tokusatsu, tactics, beat em up, action adventure, action adventure rpg, online multiplayer and traditional rpg. just as I hope for breath of fire, Last Ranker, a version of mega man like the legends dash version but with more onimusha style control with graphics like the 11th version of the megaman game or one like Megaman rush in the Monsters Hunter game new playable characters alongside the old mega roll proton breakman auto forte bass duo story new villains bosses like the bosses of the 6th version of the megaman game plantman and such with the addition of a block jewelman and a fuse plugman bosses from other versions of mega maybe Splash woman instead of centauroman more sub bosses, fusions and old and new weapons and such and also in action adventure style like Herc's Adventure Mageseeker Avatar Legend of Aang Burning Earth and other Capcom games, well there is already a trailer for the 5th version, but I felt something generic like a new makeover in the world of Onimusha news but just a guy with a sword cutting monsters and a story to justify it, this is the first impression but still it is something an Onimusha the 5th and it can even be good and fun but you have to play it to see. Repeating Onimusha a great big game and waiting for other versions of it more creative and fun even in other more animated graphic styles, nice video, Brazil. The re-release of onimusha a couple years ago was lazy, and disappointing. Hopefully this game is mostly like 1-2, didn't even know dawn of dreams released because 3 ruined the game for me.

1. Onimusha is nothing like devil may cry and shouldnt be like dmc is any way, dmc is not methodical. 2. It should be more like a soul like in a way like sekiro but with its own identity just like RE remakes are like dead space and other third person shooters. 3. RE3 was actually pretty good but the expectations from it was too high.
