Mr. Noah .... your argument on onions from Tanzania was ill tamed. It's not true that we use chemicals that are banned in Kenya. Tanzania subsidize farming implements and chemicals. We also have other production competitive advantages that you don't have in Kenya. For instance most onions in Tanzania are farmed from irrigation schemes constructed by the government and mostly without use of electric pumps. We also have a lot of tax reliefs for farmers. Land tenure is also different, most farmers rent land while in Tz most land is owned communally or by farmers themselves. We also climatic advantages etc, etc. But on use of chemicals you used negative argument just to kill the market for Tz farm produces. And very insignificant number of farmers can afford the chemicals you mention and they are rarely available in Tz with really low levels of use. Do your homework well to find reasons why most farm produces from Tz are sold low in Kenya. Note: Most beautiful Kenyan land is owned by non-Kenyan farmers producing for export market.

Not all farmers from TZ use these chemicals,but a good number do.I ahve don some tests and i can assure you of the hich chemcial residues,however most of people just buy because of the cheap prices,same to garlic from china
