I had a friend at school when we were in year 7 if I’m not mistaken, she once we were hanging out of school and she told me her boyfriend was coming to see us. Background on this girl. She had nits occasionally and would get bullied for it and smelling bad. I felt bad so I included her with my friends in lessons, No one ever believed her when she said she had a boyfriend even I was suspicious. Anyway this so boyfriend arrived and I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was like a 40 year old. I was so shocked I didn’t speak for the next 10 minutes. I watched them interact and even knowing my body and mind were screaming this is wrong and dangerously fishy. They even smoked weed together... and then he took off with her on his motorbike. Next day I see her I tell her my concerns and she never listened. The truth is I don’t know what he did or even how they broke up. Because she was ok with it I never payed more attention. I don’t even know how it ended I think he dumped her. Which brings me to now. I’m 26 and I wish when I was younger in that position I would have done more to stop it. She clearly was desperate for a boyfriend because everyone said she couldn’t have one, so she got one, a guy that would be old enough to be her dad and he obviously had to be planning bad stuff to stick around. He fucked of as soon as served what he wanted I guess but took a dive until bored. This was year 7 we were like 11-12 years old.

I was subscribed as well, I wish it was longer ago than it was... But he carries himself in such a way that you think he knows what he's talking about. He's an adult, catering to young people, probably because "he can give us the attention & understanding we lack IRL". He seems rare, an adult that gets it. His demeanor doesn't scream "manipulative" until someone points it out. I think we weren't dumb, kids/teens just lack that sorta insight, especially when someone does their best to profit under the guise of saying "you're not alone" to impressionable youth
