This is an Alternative solution to fix the Onkyo Input Selector issue. This fix might even work for any amp that uses ALPS 1017 Input Selector. You can find the schematic of the circuit in below link drive.google.c...

i fixed my input selector with a quick and easy fix...i took the straw for my canned air and crushed it in a vice. This allowed me the clearance needed to get in those spaces behind the knobs and dials without opening up the unit. I just sprayed it in there while turning the knob a few times. Spray from different angles so you crosss-spray the potentiometer. Good Luck. Worked great for me.

Hey thanks for your reply. In my case the ALPS input selector's gear was crushed and jammed So the only way to fix it was find a replacement ALPS selector which is not available in market So i decided to solve the problem in the embedded way.

What I was thinking on, is to replace the resistor array with a single digital potentiometer. Where did you got the Vcc and GND from? A pinOut diagram would be great. Also the resistor levels for the output they means, with the changing sequence (if it is not incremental).

Good idea! But there are 3x8 analog demux chips available which can be directly interfaced with the Atmega. That would have significantly reduced the space needed for the board. 😀

Can you please recommend one for audio?!

The analog multiplexer chips have significantly high contact resistance when the switch is closed, this can bring down the quality of the audio input when it reaches the power amp section. That was the main reason I went with these micro relays which will have 0-ohms resistance when closed

Hi, Please share some pictures of the internals of your Onkyo Amplifier (Like the ALPS Motorized selector, Input selector switch circuit located behind the front panel, etc) to my email. My email id is shriram.kashyap@gmail.com. The solution shown in this video is custom tailored one to suit the number of data lines in the input selector circuit of my amp. For me to help you with this i need to understand the number of data lines and Input selector switch circuit of your amp. Thanks
