Detailed unboxing and setup of Costco exclusive Onkyo TX NR 6050 7.2 Channel AV Receiver and pairing it with 5.1 Klipsch Reference Theater pack.
The receiver is very similar to Onkyo TX NR 6100 except for 10W per channel difference and missing THX certification to save costs.
Chromecast with Google TV is used as video source and Anker's Nebula Cosmos Max 4k projector was used as display.
16 AWG wire used for connections.

I had the klipsch home theater pack and returned. Try the Klipsch R-41M as you front L + R they have on Amazon, used to have at Costco. You will like. Good price too.

I agree that I am under-using the power of the receiver! Currently it is in a small room and is sufficiently loud and clear. Will definitely keep an eye for the R41 deals next time and upgrade. Thanks for the tip!

Dang banana clips would have made my life so much easier. Onkyo connection holes are a pain. Denon is better as the positive and negative are side by side and the holes on top.

I bought this Onkyo without any speakers. Looks like the Klipsch setup is going to be on sale shortly....and I'm eyeing it but I keep reading folks stating that it should be a 9 channel receiver and this is only 7. Would you agree? Happy with your setup?

Hey Steve, I think you are talking about the Klipsch 5.1.4 speaker combo at costco which does indeed need a 9.2 channel receiver to use all the channels. (You can still use it as a 5.1.2 and not use rear upward firing speakers if you want - but that's not fun). There is also a Klipsch 5.1 speaker combo which is half the price and I added 2 more speakers separately for this 7.2 receiver! Many reviews mentioned very marginal improvement of 5.1.4 over 5.1 speakers. I didn't want to double my budget for speakers and receivers. And I have been very happy with this setup for our 11x12 room!! Hope this helps!

Why do u need to connect chromecast whe it's built in???

The built-in chromecast is decent but it didn't support features like supporting Google Stadia Service(which is no more available) at the time of making of this video.
