Online job scams: Youth duped and trafficked to Cambodia

Several young Malaysians became victims of a human trafficking syndicate after being lured with telemarketing and customer service job offers in Cambodia and the promise of a lucrative pay.
MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong on Wednesday (March 30) said he is working closely with the police to help the victims, and urged victims who are able to run away to go to the embassy or the nearest Malaysian company in Cambodia to seek help.

The golden triangle from, thailand, vietnam and cambodia have been a drug lord land for years. The borders of myanmmar and to thailand mae sot is even worst. Once u are kipnapped into myanmmar through thailand mae sot border ( which is just 1 lake away ) good bye. ull be sold off and worst ur organs will be taken out and sold for profits + draining ur blood per bag to sell. your body? will be thrown into the river. It is THIS serious. What can countries do to help? Nothing bcuz nobody wants to offend china, same as U.S. They could only suspress by using international country presence..but after few months the thugs will relocate in myanmmar and change base and the cycle repeats.

There are so many job offerings for Cambodia on Facebook. I hope people will help report those pages and job postings. From the news, those job offerings are actually to lure people to work as scammers. When they arrive Cambodia, they are forced to scam people.

Malaysia police also can’t do anything as this is outside of their jurisdictions. The only way is contact the local Cambodian police or interpol for help

Hey dude. I am form Nepal. Yes.. i have been offered a job from hao tai international group which is located in mea sot thailand. They told me to come there by applying tourist visa, as they will provide work visa on arrival. All other expenses like flight tickets, food & accomodation will be provided by company. Alots la today job scammer from beginning saying promised salary rm1500 or above then when you reach there they Interview you ask this & that if without knowledge & experience or maybe skilled or (certificate) (diploma) (master) ( bachelor) whatever then after that deducted your salary to rm1200 then when you working another grandfather grandmother story behind tell you this & that then if you were still in working period doing your job if boss ask you do another thing what have you do ? Do or don't want to do of cause when you wanna go labour law all also delay one, he has delay your 2 hour times then say later you after work need to o.t again but without paid, then next morning you late reach to work place you must see worker distance from where to where scammer bullying boss after that he say you late reach to work place then after salary out guess how much rm800 ,Bangla salary more higher than malaysian you say la how ?
