Maguette Camara is a globally recognized West African dancer, choreographer, teacher, and drummer who is based in New York City. Maguette began his career at a young age with The Ballet Bougarabou Dance Company in Dakar, Senegal. His dedication and talent have earned him the opportunity to perform in impressive venues such as the Guggenheim Museum, The American Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Rolling Stones World Tour, Epcot Theme Park at Walt Disney World, The World Trade Center Jazz Festival, the Broadway Performance “Angelique,” and the opening act for Senegalese vocalist, Baaba Maal.

I used to do West African (Senegalaise) dancing 30 years ago. I became very limited in my abilty to move due to a series of unfortunate health events. I am loving, beyond words, the ability to participate in a class- to pause, to learn one thing a day, to feel this joy again. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also- my husband is Burkinabé- (Mossi tribe) and I would love to learn a little bit of traditional dance of Burkina while I am in isolation. @Maguette would you be able to help or point me in the right direction?
