She was the perfect Penny. I met her at a convention and was so much in awe of her that I started to walk away with her autographed picture without paying for it. Then my wife grabbed me and said you owe her some money. Angela just laughed at me and winked. She is a class act.

It's so interesting to hear about Penny now as an adult. I was such a young girl when I watched the reruns of Lost in Space every day at 4:30 p.m. That was such a great show and I've never forgotten it. It would be a dream come true for me to act on a tv show like that now as I have acted in many sci fi films and local tv shows. Lost in Space was definitely my inspiration.

I was a geeky little redheaded kid that talked to much and seemed to know more than most kids should. My sister was a year older than me and and had Angela's same hair color and style. I identified with bill's character. I wanted it to be real. I was obsessed with lost in space. I made my own Jupiter 2 but named it Jupiter 3 all cardboard masking tape and colored markers. My GI Joe's adventures we're epic. ECT. Love . Thank you. ❤️

I remember the very first time I saw Angela Cartwright it was on the black and white Danny Thomas show / Make room for Daddy. At the time I was a little boy watching a black and white TV when there was only three channels. I would watch the show and think nothing of it. One day I was watching the first Lost in space which was also in black and white and I noticed that Penny looked very familiar. I then said to myself, that's weird,that looks like the little girl on the Danny Thomas show. ( I had no idea that actors would work on other shows ) hell, I was just a little kid. I also began to notice, that June Lockhart was on other shows. I said to myself, hey that looks like that lady Dr. on Petticoatcoat Junction and The Beverly hillbillies, and Green Acres, that was my earliest recollection of how actors would work by going from one show to another such as Mr.Wilson on Dennis the menace how there were two of them. I also remember, William Frawley on My three sons before the other Uncle Charlie was cast. I remember saying to myself at the time, hey that's Fred Mertz from the I Love Lucy Show. Anyway, getting back to Angela Cartwright, though I didn't have a crush on her because she was a little older than I was, though I will admit she was pretty. I liked her eyes, I thought they were very pretty along with her long hair and bangs. I think I was more fascinated with her name "Penny" than anything else since that was the very first time I ever heard anyone being called Penny. What fascinated me at that age was that Penny was the name of a coin. Throughout my life, I have met people named Penny and it always reminds me of Angela in " Lost in Space".

I never really knew anything-really about Mrs. 'Cartwright' except that this little-boy was in-love with her while she played Penny Robinson during the three years of that series. Nothing in the world so devestating like being 8 years old and so in love. I still am, sorry Mr. 'Cartwright' ! Lost in Space was really all that I knew about Angela. I-know - I-know, almost 60 years has passed since puppy-love wouldn't allow to eat, but I still wish I could marry her ! 🙂 I think she's just fabulous. Lost in Space was never supposed to be serious. It was just a whole lot of campy, silly, imaginative and adventurous fun. Three generations later, and the kid's- of the kid's- of the kid's still just totally eat-it-up. I sure still do ! I wish that I could give the biggest hug to all 6, - alright 7 cast members. And no, no way could I forget the robot - without him Lost in Space would have been, well, LOST ! Wonderful and enjoyable post, thank you all so much.

Seen Angela in the 1960's at the Hollywood Bowl, she was walking with a bunch of kids following her, i couldn't get close enough to greet her, also seen later that day Gillian and the Skipper, I was running after them in the parking lot and Skipper was hitting Gillian with his hat, such a fun day.

On his show, Danny Thomas always called his little girl, Kitten. So when I had a little girl, I started calling her Kitten too (among other cute names like Lammie Pie). I'm probably not much older than Angela Cartwright but she makes up for it by being way more famous 😃

I give very little thought to it when the show was on because I grew up with two older sisters that I didn't get along with at the time. Later in life they became two of the loyalists friends I ever had. Angela sounds like a very intelligent woman with a great personality. Both my parents are dead so this time period I miss more than anything. I ever see her giving away autographs I will be the first in line.

You should have asked her about the commercial she made for a leg hair removal product. It shows her running out of the water on the beach in LA in a bikini. She runs up to the camera and says "I never felt better". It came out after LIS, probably around 1970-1973. I remember sitting up and saying, "that's Penny Robinson!"

17 : 02 Someone brought a copy of " MAD " magazine on set ( so the legend goes ) so they took the same pose as in the magazine for a publicity picture . That same year " MAD " did the same thing to " Star Trek " and someone mentioned that they had just spotted the " Roberson family on the Jupiter 2 " the Star Trek in the magazine was called " Star Belch " .

One of her cast mates from "The Sound Of Music", (Heather Menzies), did pose in Playboy. Angela Cartwright never did any nudity of any kind.. Angela'a sister, Veronica Cartwright did do a wild nude sex scene in INSERTS (Movie 1975), which really restarted her stalled movie career. Veronica had been a young star in movies and TV, and was thought of as a "kid's show" star, until INSERTS got directors and producers seeing her in an adult light!
