All he's really saying is that he's putting his family first. And who can argue with that? Good on you Gary, you'll always be one of the greats.

I can’t even watch Gary play anymore, I know how good he is and it’s frustrating to see all the loose 1’s and 5’s and 12 missed darts at doubles ect.. he doesn’t love the game anymore and his lack of play time and passion just shows in every game and it’s sad.. he’s got one foot out the door and I’d put my money on it he will be announcing his retirement after this years worlds, always be a legend of the sport tho💪

The hunger for the win doesn’t seem to be there anymore, I’m afraid to say. And that’s fair enough, he’s got other priorities and that’s no one’s business but Gary’s. The flip side is that he is scraping by and honestly feels like he has one foot out the door already.

Over the years when Gary was bad he was bad,but if he retires the memories he gave us will live with me and his army of fans forever,it really won't be the same but as you say the hunger appears to have gone..Good comment my friend 🏴

@@stilllaughing3959 He’ll forever be one of the greatest players ever to pick up a dart and (maybe I’m biased because of my years in Scotland) when he was on, there is no other player I’d rather watch. Devastatingly good. And that’s the problem now; everyone including Gary knows he’s good for more but.. yeah. Hope his youngest kid grows up super fast so Gary can get on with playing again! Haha Slange!🍻🏴

He`s always been lazy and 95% of his success was based on natural talent. Meanwhile this talent is not enough anymore and he actually needs to practice much more and needs to play much more events to remain in the flow. But he doesn`t want to and meanwhile is honest enough to know exactly that he won`wind a thing anymore. He knows that he has to put much more efforts into it than he did in the last few years. But he can`t motivate himself to do so anymore. So he will keep playing the big events as long as he is qualified based on the PDC order of merit and take the money he gets from it. I only hope that he will officially retire early enough before it gets embarasing.

Adrian Lewis once told me if Gary’s in the mood there’s no point anyone else playing, just give him the trophy now. Even Taylor said the same thing, if Gary’s playing his A game, forget it. The desire to win isn’t really there anymore but I think he’s got one major tournament left in him. If he goes far enough and feels he’s playing well it’ll click, but until then he won’t be bothered, he’s won 2 world titles and made his money, he won’t bother.

I don't agree with many of the comments here, Gary is making the same mistake of every dart player. Suffice to say the great dart players use or used it, Unfortunately they didn't know how they did it, as I have already stated, you can't see it or feel it, so when they lose it, it's gone forever.
