@@MarcellaSmithVegan King Arthur. Directed by Guy Ritchie. Mid 2000s release? Don't remember the exact year but it's like about a decade old or so I think? It was a fun film, not really sure why so many people panned it. Personally I wasn't a fan of the shaky cam they used during the "plucky street thieves" portion of the story, it just visually gave me vertigo trying to track it. But overall, yeah it was a fun film, and a fun take on Arthurian legend.

Arthur pulled the sword out when he was a teen page. When his master lost his sword in battle he called for Arthur to get him a weapon, Arthur pulled the only weapon he saw, and it was Excalibur in the stone. Not some 50 year old soccer player. Get real people.

Nice scene. I prefer the Disney interpretation, back when they were still good. When the young man Aurther pulls the sword, he doesnt understand its significance. Showing not only the miracle of the sword, but the miracle that some men dont know their own power/strength, not because of ignorance, but because they dont aspire to power, only the needed/only the good. That is what makes a king.
