Randy, all these noises of Galamsey shouldn't be deemed as a political issue but rather national. Now when Nana Addo was campaigning in 2012, he weaponized Galamsey by saying that he will regularize it if voted into power, that time president Mahama was going after the illegal mining. Fast forward, I don't intend to remind the family of Majour Mahama who was brutally murdered by those barbaric individuals of Denkyera Obuasi, now this same Nana Addo made a u-turn and changed his campaign message that if voted into power he will fight against Galamsey, wow! He won and as promised made a press released that this time he is going to fight against this illegal mining even if it's going to cost him his presidency, so he set up the operation vanguard only to realize after 2020, general elections that NPP lost in almost all those areas these Galamsey is predominant and at the same time the NDC was also using Galamsey as a weapon against the NPP that if voted Mahama into power they will allow those doing Galamsey to go on with their work. The other day when that MP made such reckless statement at the chamber even the speaker said they all know those MPs that are involved in this evil act against Ghana. Why is everybody so quiet till now? Do we know how many that could have been saved? For 32 years of this current constitution both NPP/NDC have demonstrated to Ghanaians that they're incompetent, right now in Ghana too many people are living in poverty and misery they can't even afford three square meals a day. Food inflation is high. many people are avoiding going to the hospital as if this is not enough the entire ecological system is now endangered by illegal mining. Erastus Asare Donkor has done a lot of exposes on the Galamsey menace, Dr. Frimpong Boateng's report submitted to both the chief of staff and the president nothing was absolutely done about it. We seem helpless and watch while the floral, fauna, water bodies and the earth itself have become transmitters of death, morbidity and poisoned. The only solution to the problem now is to halt all surface and alluvial mining in the country, and Randy one thing that is very important to the upcoming general election is for the media to press for presidential debate because for the first time in the history of Ghana, a former vice president who became a one term president is competing against the current vice president who has been chosen as a presidential candidate to run for his party. I really enjoy your program keep up the good work.
