Spray yourself in the eye with carb cleaner, and smash your shins with a falling jetski. As we put new life into this obscure watercraft. This model was only produced for 2 years (1994 and 1995) its the Yamaha fx1

My family has had a 1994 FX-1 in our family since my dad bought it used in 1996. We had a 1986 JS300 before so this seemed like a rocket to us. The last time anyone rode it was in 2016. It has been stored indoors it's whole life and looks amazing. The last time we rode it the engine ran ruff and needed a new carb. My brother has it at his garage now and hopes to get to it this coming summer. I wish I could share a picture.

This is such an awesome build! I love how clean and crisp looking it is! Amazing job on that billet head Jacob! SBT has come a long way in their quality and offerings. I like how they offer a range/variety of options for parts and prices that you can Taylor to what the demands are of your builds whether it’s just an economy rebuild or a higher performance build. Their prices are amazing too!

Thanks SBT Has been great! I'm stoked that I'm going to have skis that work this year! I try to do cool but different paint jobs or graphics when I can. I'm not the most skilled or creative in the paint department, but I think I use what I have pretty well. Camo with a stencil isn't hard neither was the wood ski. If I didn't have my own billet parts.... it would SUCK. This year my mindset is a little different. I'm not trying to sell any of my skis. I can keep pretty much all the stuff I build right now. Should be a really good year for us.

@@Jacobskibros the wood ski and army ski were my favorites! You have so many skills man and you definitely have a gift for creating things that you imagine in your head. I know I sure would love to see the wave jammer get a little more power if you have time this year! Another thing that I am dying to see is for you guys to experiment on a cheap ski by grinding all of the chines smooth and making the entire hull a round, smooth, bathtub and see how terrifying it is to ride and do spins! Early 90’s 3 seater seadoo gtx, gts, and gti hulls are essentially chineless with only two small fins on the ride plate. Those would be great candidates! Any ski will do but three seaters work the best for super long crazy slides and spins!

Very nice build, I really like it. Well done Jacob! Anyway, dont take this the wrong way, its supposed to be praise: This video seems to me like the exact mid point between a dude just filmning whatever happens in his garage on one side, and a pro TV production with big view numbers on the other side. As I said, take it the right way Josh, its not easy to get as far as you have done with the editing and filming without a big budget etc. Well done to you as well!

Thanks I think that's how you make videos if you want more people to watch than just core enthusiasts. In some ways it's annoying to film, but in the end you get a more coherent nicer video. There's only a handful of people that want every detail. I also really think Josh has been doing really good production and when the videos are better you want more people to see them.... But then not necessarily the good videos get the views and it kind of stinks.

I use what resources I got just like everyone else. Fortunately I have a cool job and can do these things. It feels pretty cool running a ski with parts like that that you make yourself. The intake manifold I designed so 760 carbs would just bolt up straight off another engine that worked perfect just to cut down on tinkering time. I get home from making it and find the carbs sit to close to the cylinder and cant fit. So then I had to turn the carbs 180 degrees and run fuel pump deletes for it to work. Probably wasn't worth it, still fun to to.

760 with the Coffman pipe! Nice! A powdercoat on the exhaust would have done wonders for it! Might just be the mic you use but it’s crazy how much different my single carb 61x 701bored to 710 and ported sounds with the same pipe. I just ordered some parts for my sj hope to have a video in a month when it warms up, keep on bringing them old 2 strokes a new life, even the crusty builds are fun to watch
