It seems like more and more people these days don't understand the point of of leaving an item review. They basically want everyone to know that they had gotten their item, and that they, "can't wait to use it! Five stars!" If it wasn’t for whatever selling platform encouraging people to review their items as soon as they open the package, I'd think they'd want non-reviewed reviews to be reported or something. This is the reason why I appreciate youtubers like Jackie who do honest reviews of stuff.
@orchdork7757 ай бұрын
Yea, I hate it. I think it's because the store/app always prompts you to leave a review immediately after the product is delivered, and a surprising number of people don't realize it's optional and that choosing not to leave a review at that moment won't affect their account. Alternatively, I think people from older generations don't realize that the notification is automated and that there isn't a human being asking them to review the product. It's like they are trying to be nice and help by leaving a review, despite not having tried to product. Then, because most people will give 5 stars as a default before trying the product, the store benefits, so there's no incentive to change anything. Then, there's also a problem with people leaving negative reviews that have nothing to do with the actual product. They'll leave a negative review and low ratings for delivery mistakes, lost packages, items damaged during shipping, etc when those complaints should go to UPS or whoever delivered it. Then, most of the people leaving these reviews never even contacted the store to get the item replaced or get a refund, which is the crucial bit of information that could decide whether or not the product is purchased or the customer continues shopping at that store. In my experience, the absolute worst offender in mistaken negative reviews/ratings is on Walmart grocery items due to their grocery delivery service. Every single food item, particularly produce and bakery items have ratings below 3 stars. The bad reviews are either because they didn't get the item they ordered/got the wrong item instead, that items were damaged by the delivery driver, that items were damaged from being bagged imrpoperly, that the produce selected was of poor quality, or that the item was too close to expiring. These make up over 60% of reviews, so finding anything about the actual taste of the item is very difficult. You have to go through pages of review and read every single one. Then, there are so many reviews where clearly the person just didn't select the right options when making the order, like whether or not they wanted any substitutions and what those substitution should be for each item, or whether they wanted delivery left at their door, or if they wanted to sign for it. I just wish the people running the Walmart website/app would do something about this, because the ratings and reviews are basically useless unless you commit to reading through all of them. At least there's a new feature where AI gives a summary of all the reviews, which has made it a lot easier to see what the reviews that mention the taste/quality say and what the most common comments were. For example, it will mention that a lot of people had the item show up damaged, but that customers overall liked the taste. Or it might say that some customers liked the taste, while others thought it was too sweet. Writing summaries of online reviews has got to be the perfect use case of current AI in terms of what it is capable of doing, and of what will benefit society, because it helps consumers without putting people's jobs at risk. Sorry for such a long comment, this all just drives me crazy and I needed to vent haha

I usually agree with you. But when you consider this also included shipping, it's a pretty good deal for what it is LOL. There's some interaction time and some cute little display elements. I just sent one to two different people I know that love cats. It's not pricey, and yeah it's not going to last forever but it'll give them some fun discovery and play time plus some cute little figures that will probably hang around. When you consider inflation and shipping it's worth the price. 👍

I looked at reviews for a gaming chair and one was something like "Got this for my husband. He wears it on his walk to work everyday. He says it fits really well, even with his broad shoulders." Unless there is a strange fashion trend I missed, I don't think that review was for a gaming chair! 😂 It happens on a lot of things. Just read before buying.

review scores don't work like '4.2 by 1600, meaning 1600 thought this toy was awesome', it means the average of all scores equals 4.2. So there was definitely people in that 1.6k that thought the toy was trash. I imagine a bunch of the reviews were bots too, pretty sure thats a big problem on amazon. Know this was a kinda throw away line, but you just can't trust star ratings at face value :I
@nilawarriorprincess7 ай бұрын
Yesh, people get paid to leave fake reviews & they're are easily purchased. Some sellers even pay people to leave negative reviews on their competitor's listingss. I just saw another YT video about the other ways sellers can falsify & finesse reviews. You definitely have to read multiple reviews to figure out which are falsified vs the genuine. I never trust the stars.
@thinkerdreamersketcherspy7 ай бұрын
The sellers can also recycle listings. For example, if the listing ID (visible in the URL) is 4678578, the listing can start out as cat food, then be for bedding, then sunscreen... So if you end up purchasing a toy with 4* rating from listing 4678578, it might be that the good ratings are for the bedding sold 5 years ago. This is against Amazon TOS but every time I've reported such a listing, Amazon has replied back with "there's no issue". (and yes, I've been scammed with such listings)
@thinkerdreamersketcherspy7 ай бұрын
Also, Amazon listings have so many people reviewing things as 5* with comments like "haven't tried it but looks good" or "this was a gift for someone". People, please, only review things you've actually used.

Then, I love how creative the design of the environment is with the hanging chair and unique furniture, and it seems like it has a lot of playability. Then, if you get multiple playsets in different designs, you can mix and match the furniture and decor to make different environments. Idk, I just think that for the price, these are really good value and offer a lot of playability.

sometimes i feel youtubers intentionally act incompetent when reviewing / putting an item together for views and content. for the price these are decent toys. i dont think you tired very hard to push the item into its sockets. I collect anime figures and sometimes the parts that need connecting are harder to push together than others. I feel like people who build/collect toys for the most part know this. you are trying to set up the display before you have connected all the pieces together hence why the things are falling off. thats common sense :(

Everyone has to learn to walk like an Egyptian 😆That song is awesome, loves ya tho! 😙 My fave shows when I was kid were Shoe People, Gummi bears and Raggy Dolls. I was born in 81, and I'm in the UK, so they may not be shows known by many people in other countries. Love your videos too ❤

I grew up with Button Moon, I love it even now the creativity of it being stop motion odds and ends but nobody I mention it to knows what I'm on about 😅
@nataliehall38747 ай бұрын
I think Button Moon was puppetry rather than stop motion - I remember the wire on Mr Spoon and the rocket.

The thing with Amazon reviews is some of the sellers will get bots and have them write good reviews on their listing. So Amazon reviews are not always super reliable.

some times parents rate a product like that because of the fun money ratio that they see on their kids, and remember kids only know one things, you never play with toys the way instructions say you play with them the way you want to play with them XD ps. feel the pain in doubles
